My feedback on GP rework and new HUD

I'll start with the HUD, as it's the shorter bit of this post. I don't understand why everyone is complaining about it, it looks really nice to me. Everything is more compact in the bottom of the screen, and it's honestly easier to see everything. You still have all your stats in the same order/lineup as before, and now they're right by all your cooldowns, HP, XP, buffs, etc... And you get death timers without having to look in the scoreboard. I guarantee if you give it a week or two you'll realize it was a good change, and doesn't deserve the hate it's getting.

Now for the GP feedback. I like it. I like it a lot. That being said, it has problems. --The Q is unchanged, which I like because I feel that it's always been the best part of his kit. The refunding of 50% of mana on kill, and the neat little R purchasing system is pretty cool. I do wish that the amount you needed to purchase the upgrades was lower, as it takes half a game to hit 500, then you're in teamfight mode and you never get to buy any more. Also the upgrades feel lackluster. --His W is nice, and I really like the %missing hp heal bonus. No complaints here. --His E is where most of my sorrow lies, as it's so hard for it to be useful in lane against any ranged characters. My thoughts on this are enemies shouldn't be allowed to break them for 1 second after they're armed, giving GP an ample opportunity to use it to farm with. It's got a cool mechanic... that I'm never able to use because it takes so long to arm, and it can be broken so damn easily by your opponents. I get that Riot is all about "counterplay" but with this skill I feel like I'm trying to counterplay against myself. --His R is fine for the most part, I mentioned what I don't like about it in the Q portion of the post.

All in all, I think it's a good patch. But with every patch comes people complaining about every little change, me included this time. Gp's new kit is fun, and I hope to see riot fix the broken/bad parts of his kit so he can be more viable soon.

Preventing enemies from being able to kill the barrels means they're just free (manaless!) AoE damage and slows for Gangplank; even more so than they already are.

Also, it would just fuck melee champs right in the ass.

They take a pretty damn long time to arm, and the radius is pretty small. Any champ could just walk out of the way easily.

And then when they walk out of the way and you drop another barrel on them to chain from the one you're going to hit?

Say what you will, but his E is so easily avoided by anyone paying anything close to attention it's not even funny.

Problem with the HUD is that it really didn't do much. Everyone has to relearn everything now. it's just shiny now. Old one also blended into your surroundings on SR so it was less distracting.

His E is built to have heavy counterplay early game because of the power it can give him. To face ranged champions you have to be trickier. Like placing a barrel in the bush to chain off. They either have to control that bush or put a ward in it.
