How can I climb out of bronze!!!

Vigilente··2 votes·605 views

I am a bronze 4 player (now bronze 5 of recent demotion :/) and i honestly think i am in bronze also. But I need tips and a detailed guide on how to get out! What am I doing wrong? I ward, last hit, look at minimap very frequently, but for some reason i cant carry a team to victory and sometimes im a feeder. It is so frustrating for me. I once was lucky and got an 8 win streak from 30 LP at b5 and drove straight to b4 winning all my promos. Suddenly, I play one normal and then i start losing all my ranked games and fall back to b5 (not that the normal game really did anything i think). Any tips? I really would like someone here who is a good duo partner or who can watch me play and monitor my mistakes.

Its hard to tell just looking at your stats but the big thing I'm noticing is you deaths are WAY too high. Even when you are winning the game you are frequently in the double digits on deaths. That's a lot of gold going over to the enemy team and a lot of gray screen time that you could be using to get objectives. If you figure out why you are dying so much and fix that then chances are you'll have no problem climbing. The best advice I can give you is when you die ask yourself "How could I have prevented that death." And if you have trouble identifying how you could have prevented your deaths download a replay program like SkinSpotlights Replay or record yourself playing using a program like OBS and watch yourself play (similar to how a NFL team will watch film to see what mistakes they made in their most recent game.)

Good luck.

Thanks. So what is the best replay program u suggest for me? I tried lol replay but there is too many bugs and its not worth it.

I use SkinSpotlights Replay. Its the same replay software that Riot used during worlds and during LCS games. There are some bugs but they are WAY less numerous than most other replay programs. The only major problem with the software is that you have to do some extra stuff to watch replays from previous patches.

The other option is to use OBS and actually record your games. This lets you know exactly where you were looking at every moment and allows you to see what your mouse clicks were. Sometimes I will also record myself with a webcam while I play because you can watch how often your eyes move to the minimap so you can identify when you aren't looking at the minimap as often as you should. The problem with recording games is it takes up a lot more hard drive space and a lot more memory so it can make your frame rate in game suffer a lot (mine drops about half if I want to record 1080p video.)

by not caring. everyone who really climbs out does it by just having fun

This is honestly very true (to some extent). Play for improving yourself, and not for getting a certain rank, and you will steadily climb

First off, DO NOT main a single champ. You will be in bronze for as long as you fucking live if you soley play one champion.

  1. You do NOT need to carry games. People who go in with the mind that they will just faceroll the enemy and my team will just suck is exactly what makes up bronze.

  2. Do not get mad, ever. Focus more on staying happy and you will climb easier, and will have much more fun.

  3. You may not like this one, but if you are not playing mid or ADC, play someone with a shit ton of cc or utility ( That does not include lee sin avoid him like the plague ) This is mostly because mid and adc cannot just play a tank because you decided to play some master yi jungle or another hyper carry.

I got out of bronze in S4 with Elise Vi Malphite Amumu Vi . I got out of bronze in s5 using primarily Poppy and Vi . And I got out of bronze in s6 with Poppy .

All of these champions ( and many more, these are just the ones I enjoy most ) can benefit their team whether they are ahead or not. You WILL win games with these champions, I promise.

Also:

  1. learn how to ward and ward often
  2. try to have 80-100 cs before the 10 minute mark
  3. watch your map
  4. ALWAYS know where your team is, especially with those champs.

EDIT: I was joking about only playing poppy, please do NOT play only one champion

A few tips that have helped me and I don't see mentioned alot are:

  1. Know when to dodge. This is typically just recognizing bad team comps and/ or avoiding the troll in champ select. You don't lose mmr so, just take the LP loss because it balances out in the end. I've had to not play ranked for that day because I dodged 3 times in a row.

2)Don't talk in chat, especially in /all chat. Somebody flaming or trolling you? Ignore them. You would be surprised that trolls get bored when they don't see anybody responding to their antics, so more often than not they end up trying more. If you have to say anything, keep it positive and simple "GJ" / "all good"

  1. Main a single champ. edit: there's a difference between having and maining. You probably will not climb to silver or gold, if you are bronze 5 level at 20+ champs. You will climb if you are gold level at one single champ, and with the new rank system its oh so easy to get the role you want, each and every time.

  2. not just the jungle roams, you can too.

  3. takes notes of what you did wrong, then improve next time. I just take mental notes, but writing them down on a sticky note on your monitor is more effective.

edit: 6) you are not above playing "OP" champs

I wouldn't really say main a single champ, you should main a couple champs around the position you play until you have a champion pool If you only play one champ what will you do if you get counter picked or if that champ is banned

J Epstein1 votes

The reason I say main a single champ is because counter picking in bronze is nonexistent, and unless you play high ban rate champs XinZhao MasterYi , having your main banned is rare too. If he mains a single champ, and becomes silver or gold skill level with that champ, he will get out of bronze in no time. The OP specifically asked how to get out of bronze, once he gets out, then he can start playing other champs. So yes, eventually you do need to learn other champs.

Baunjo1 votes

Playing predominantly one champ is the biggest handicap you can give your team and yourself. You need to have ATLEAST 5 champions per role that you play well if you expect to climb well.

It does not matter how good you are at a champion, there is more THINKING involved in this game than there is actual mechanical knowledge.

EDIT: and I said champs you play WELL. Not sure what the classification is for " maining a champion " because that whole idea comes from players miles above mine and your skill level that have played the game enough to be ABLE to function well with 1 champion. You are missing a crucial point here.

Envy Sin1 votes

Or you pick someone who's good in most comps. AKA someone like morg.

Baunjo1 votes

Realistically you don't need to have a long list of champs under your belt to climb, that's not what the game is about. But when you start playing against players who will actually punish you for having a shitty team comp you will seriously consider why you picked morgana into a heavy poke and disengage comp...

Envy Sin1 votes

And then i don't care because i

Black shield. Flash. R. Hourglass.

And then janna trys to press R but i stun her whole team anyways.

Baunjo1 votes

I wasn't referring to the enemy team being a poke disengage comp, I meant YOUR team.

Ever played morgana with a bad xin zhao or janna on your team? It makes you want to afk overtime they save people from your ult.

wtf. Hi

If you get your CS up to a decent level (in early game) sitting at 96 CS at 10 mins will raise you into silver alone.

Vigilente1 votes

I totally agree with you. I get about average 75 cs at 10 mins and sometimes 90. But i dont think that would raise me alone. In fact, i kinda demoted after devoting more time to cs.

So i am noticing a Huge gold gap in your games, either you win hard or lose hard, very rarely is the game ever close. I think part of this is like Randomonium says part of this is cause of your high death count, you have roughly 1/2 of all the deaths on your team.

Almost all of your games are as AD assassins. I am guessing you are a mid/top picker. This is dangerous since things like this game happen (all AD comp). http://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/NA1/2122329563/221576921?tab=overview

I am not saying its your fault, but i know you were not first pick since the new deaft always changes the order after champ select. It just an example of a extremely weak comp.

Looking back at the link i provided, you do not really ward, 5 wards and 0 pinks is not a high ward count.

If you want i can spectate and review one of your games.
