Mejais is way too easy to stack now

as I'm sure many of you have noticed, both of our stacking items of ultimate destruction now start you with 5 stacks. SotO I really have no clue about the simplicity of stacking because I have not seen it in a real game since the change (honestly you flat out don't see it in game ever). however, I have seen mejai's used on 4 separate occasions since the 5 stacks, 1 of which I myself bought it, and I must say it is ridiculously easy to stack. Items such as mejais and sword of the occult are made with 1 purpose: high risk hyper damage items. if you can pull them off you will destroy everything opposing you, but if you don't you get 20 ap for 1400 gold, so a massive waste. high risk brings high reward. however, starting with 5 stacks at 8 ap per stack makes mejais literally a cheaper needlessly large rod. is that not stupid? 1400 gold for a starting ap value of 60 ap, the same as a needlessly large rod which is 1600 gold.

Mejai's Soulstealer is 35.2% gold efficient with no stacks. Its gold efficiency increases by 14.1% per stack, becoming gold efficient at five stacks and reaching 354.9% gold efficiency at maximum stacks.

so in other words, upon buying mejai's, it has a 105.7% gold efficiency. That should certainly not be the case. as I said before, the purpose of these items is high risk/high reward. It is supposed to be gold inefficient early game with powerful snowballing capabilities, but punishing bad choices that cause you to die. instead, starting with 5 stacks, it is actually more gold efficient than going the standard route with rushing a needless. On top of that, as we all know from seeing the power spike that needless brings, that power spike is equally applied to mejai's and therefore makes it infinitely easier to snowball with. Now think about rushing that on an assassin, such as veigar, fizz, akali, or Katarina. you just gotta buy that, roam a little, maybe meet the enemy jungler at their buff, and suddenly you're snowballing out of control. I speak from experience as I played both as the assassin and against it several times a few days ago, and in all cases the person with the mejai's snowballed out of control. I very strongly suggest that these changes be reverted.

Assuming that you don't get ganked into oblivion. The item also offers no utility or mana.

The item also offers no utility or mana

neither do rabadons and infinity edge. and also, most people upon getting a mejai's will start roaming a ton and/or just wait until they can all in or just poke down.

So, did they snowball because of the mejais or because of their ability, and bought the mejais knowing that they could snowball?

well, they have the potential to snowball, just like anybody else, but with mejai's the way It is currently it makes it far easier to snowball. mejai's should have very low gold efficiency when you buy it, not over 100%
