Bronze...

In bronze and maybe even silver, we need to award LP based on performance not wins or losses.

I can do everything right, have a positive score, win my lane, know when to freeze lane, know how to set up a gank or counter-jungle, know when to slow push. know when to group and when to farm, I can cs well, I can carry, or I can just play safe and not feed. But, no matter how well I do there is, more than half the time, more than one player who feeds or is toxic before minions even spawn. Or has no clue what to do after lane, or has a complete disregard for level/items before attacking, and they just ruin the game.

8 times I've been 1 win from silver and then get a streak of horribad teams. There's usually one or two other players on the team doing well, or at least OK; they must feel my frustration.

I'm not toxic either. I learned that lesson long ago. I'm keeping a positive attitude, playing smart and I can't get ahead.

Don't get it twisted, I'm not pretending I'm challenger. I'm not a twitch junkie who thinks he's pro. I'm probably somewhere around mid-gold. Average player.

We need to revisit how Bronze and maybe silver progresses. My suggestion would be to come up with some kind of positive/negative scoring system regardless of win or loss. Bonus for a win maybe, but it's just not a fair rating system.

Even NBA players on losing teams can make the all-star game....

No, this doesn't need to change. You need to understand that if things were changed the climb would have little weight and it wouldn't be possible to balance. People would be advancing for the wrong reasons. Personal skill and team coordination are equally important, if you're personally doing well then you need to learn how to adjust that to your team that is how you will start climbing efficiently.

Bronze is a different beast; however, I don't think redesigning the LP system is the answer. It is possible to climb out of bronze, its just really challenging, requires a lot of patience and accept the fact that you're just going to lose some games.

One trick I would suggest is to look at the op.gg profiles of the players in your lobby. If one player has a long match history of intentionally feeding, then DODGE. You end up losing 3LP instead of 10-15. If one player looks like a smurf that will solo carry the game, then stay.

Another cheeky tip is to check out my YT channel, I make vids on how to get out of low elo: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UChJxCSkdvGeHnjJAlHpu06w [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

I have never understood this argument but I see it a lot. In S5, my second season playing league I got placed bronze 5 from having been silv 3 at the end of S4 playing casually. Those were some of the most chill and fun games I've ever played in league. You dont get punished for any of your mistakes so you can afford to be careless and not play have to play with the usual try hard mindset I rank with. I get that you're more likely to get trolled down there, but its actually EASY to 1v2-3 people in that elo if you arent playing something utility, which should never be played down there. I remember tons of games in that elo that I'd have an afk or something and still win 4v5.

Not bragging just point is, if you're silv or lower, you really need to not be thinking about what you're rank is, its only gonna get in the way, respect that there is a depth to the game and start trying to learn it to get better. Once you've figured out the basics gold comes pretty easy. One of the most troll things I see whenever I smurf or do normal games, silver and lower are like 10x more likely to be SURE they played that fight they got caught in perfectly, and that their team just sucks. That kinda thinking really gets in the way of improvement, and really is the only thing I can imagine besides a bad comp/internet that should keep someone in that low an elo.

Also remember that climbing ranked isnt about any one thing like cs'ing, KDA, even map awareness. If you go 16/3/10 early/mid game on kassadin, but then get picked at 40 mins right before that baron fight, YOU lost the game.

If you're really mid gold player then you will get there eventually. Takes time to climb in this system. I was mid gold last season and was pissed I dropped from G3 to B1. Took a good amount of time but made it back to gold.

Even for a very basic gold player as myself bronze is easy. Silver... is a different beast to me but once you find out what works for your in the current meta its not really that bad either.

If the word bronze was changed to silver I would have agreed. But in all honesty, there's a lot more you can improve towards.

  1. CS is probably the lowest I've seen, there hasn't been one game where you've gotten a good share of it.
  2. KDA is probably not the best, you should never die more than 5 times each, and that's only lenient because it's bronze(P.S I did horrible last game, I don't think I even deserved to win that one).
  3. Your champion pool is huge, which isn't necessarily a good thing. You've played Ashe in 14 games! I couldn't even play a champion that well in normals.
