How Come Orianna and Karma get shield nerfs but Lux gets buffed?

Lux's shield protects on the way in and out, and she can shield multiple allies with it if she positions herself to let it hit them. And it shields for twice the amount on the way back, without needing to hit an ally. Her ultimate can be up so much sooner than any other mage in the game, especially if it hits someone. Her damage is insane too.

I don't play enough of Karma to really speak for her but when I play against her while she is in the support role she never seems to do that well and it can't just be the player. Orianna doesn't have nearly as much damage as Lux either, she has the utility but Lux has some utility on her Q and E too. And Orianna's ult is on a long cooldown.

I don't mean to complain. I love Lux as a champion but ugh fighting her is a pain and I feel cheap using her. Why butcher Orianna's shield?? Her skillshots in my opinion are harder to land and have smaller range and of course, less damage. If anyone needs a shield nerf it is definitely Lux. If Orianna, Janna, Lulu and Karma get them, why not Lux?

Does she struggle that much in upper tiers that she gets all the goods?

Love from Alayna :(

i understand your point. i bet they just left her as is because her shield has mechanics that are totally different than all the others.. a lot of lux fail to even land it on their team like.. it's a skill shot that's a shield :\

I guess that makes sense. At least hers can hit twice and double on the way back.

F.) none of the above Karma and ori have point and click shields, lux has a skillshot shield; harder to aim and land.

Lux's shield also has longer range -and it isn't a skillshot for herself. But besides that, what does that warrant it being twice as strong on the way back? It's like two shields.

It takes double skill to land double shield on other people on the wayback

lux shield is a skillshot and is only a shield. sure it can shield 5 people, but it takes actual skill to land on multiple targets. every other one you mentioned grants bonus stats in addition to the shield. and in karmas case its also AoE, but you point click one target and the rest just have to be in the general vicinity to get it.

Ori's shield gives armor and mr, damages enemies it passes through, is on a lower cd, and shields for as much as the doubled part of Lux's shield. The returning part of Lux's shield is even harder to land than the part going out and is even more delayed so the biggest part of her shield can come out too late to matter with the burst people have. Given the chance I would trade Lux's shield for Ori's any time.
