How do you define solo carry? Do you want to be able to pop off and 1v5, do you want to impact the map as much as possible, or do you want to prevent your teammates from dying?

CC. Noobs in solo queue always want to play stupid 0 cc champs, feed their lanes and then someone else has to deal with it. That's where stuns come in :P

Since you just hit 30, I'd recommand Master Yi and Jax. Game last longer and these 2 champion can 1v5 late game. They aren't hard for beginner.
