What do you think about Riot increasing the penalties for ranked AFKs?

I'm not going to speculate as to why this is, but it seems like there have been a lot more afks in ranked this season.

First of all, while I think the penalties for leaving games are already too low, we've all been in a situation where either the client or our computers or our connection are messing up, so I understand there needs to be some leeway.

With normals, I'm completely happy with the current amount of leeway given. If I end up on an AFK team, it kind of sucks, but it's still a practice opportunity, which is essentially what normals are for.

With ranked, I am playing a bit more seriously, as I think most people are when they play ranked. And on top of that, games are a fairly long time investment at 30-40 minutes in my current elo (Silver). I already have to battle against the massive increase of boosted feeders this season, and the ridiculously frequent AFK's on top of that just further increase the level of grinding required to advance at all.

So why not increase penalties for AFK's in ranked games?

To me, if you are having a consistent problem with your connection/hardware and you continue to queue up for ranked games and then dc, that is just as bad as rage quitting or any other type of AFK.

Anyway, that's my thought process, and I'm interested to hear your thoughts.

They better be ready to have bans contested.

Honestly, I personally can say our current ban system is a joke (This is coming from someone who used to troll a lot); You can basically get away with anything in the current game. On top of that, they reduced the experience from 1-30 - making it a lot easier to make a new account if you do eventually get banned.

The reason League is the most toxic game in ALL of online gaming multiple years in a row is there policy being reform only; your allowed to continue to play as much as you want no matter how much wrong you do.

Honestly; go test it - go hop in a game and harass someone. As long as "You don't do this often" Riot considers it an isolated experience; as if you were just having a bad day. Your allowed to break rules as long as it's not often enough (Once in every 20 games or so).

The afk penalty is much higher than any other there competitive game. Dota, play a few single draft games which can take a few minutes ora half hour to find (pick one of 3 heroes selected and probably never picked since you own everyone right out of the box) usualy the second awnser happens and it goes up one every time afterwards. You must also win but those guys suck at the game. Overwatch, csgo, smash, smite, tf2 30 minute cooldown. Here it's 20 minutes in the low priority queue for 5 matches. You can't go off and play tf2 casual for 30 min since you must be in the queue so just play in a window or alt tab. Also if internet goes down for maintenance or the servers go down due to a fire, that's problematic for everyone. It's a lose lose situation. That happened to me once when i was playing a game so I couldn't rejoin the game.
