Context on Akali's dash speed change to fix the dash speed bug - overall, its a nerf.
So I thought I would create a history lesson post to explain the whole big deal behind Akali's dash speed change on the PBE currently as alot of players are probably wondering, 'What are these random dash speed changes on the PBE?'.
In Patch 5.9, the addition of the strikethrough for some reason made the dash speed slower, even though the missile speed hasn't changed, source and also wasn't intentionally nerfed therefore is a bug. source
However, on the PBE, the dash speed increase from 1600 -> 2000 doesn't fully bring the current live dash speed to match the old dash speed source1 because the old dash speed was 'simply too fast' and so they are not going back to that dash speed. source2
He then goes on to say that 'the original speed isn't the correct speed in the current state of the game'. Which doesn't even make sense because if it wasn't for the addition of the strikethrough to Akali's dash in Patch 5.9, the original speed wouldn't of got affected in the first place and Akali wouldn't be in this mess to begin with. source
So basically, Akali's dash speed has been bugged since 5.9 as confirmed by Riot, but when it comes to fixing the bug, they won't fully fix it but only fix it partially. Therefore the end result is a nerf.
TLDR: Overall, Akali got another nerf since Patch 5.9 on top of her 5.2 nerfs.
PS: Hopely, this doesn't happen to other champions.
