Reasonable Janna nerfs?

Hey so this is just a circlejerk post about everyone's ABSOLUTE favorite support that just blows all playmaking and or anything in general which you know just blows I don't really need to explain why most people who don't play her despise her, but if you've been under a rock or avoiding the discussion boards here's a quick list on why.

  • Simplicity (which isn't inherently bad) with no real true definition between those on the floor of her skill level and those on** cloud 9** except for you know Janna one tricks.
  • Salt from how a whole meta was allowed to exist with her being the largest culprit! (Yes I'm looking at you item 3504 )
  • Just Riot not looking at her overall ability to control bot-lane except when she's directly countered.

For example, did you know that since patch 8.1 she hasn't dropped below a 51% win rate? Or that she doesn't drop below a 51% win rate all points in the game except 35-40 minutes in before picking back up?

Anyways so I've been thinking about 2 nerfs to her that honestly would make it better to differentiate the skill expression of those who pick her because of how safe she is and those who actually know how to not panic press Q and stop every play from happening.

So this first one is a change in item 3117 ! This nerf mostly involves just Riot changing the definition of what is considered "out of combat." Currently, shielding isn't considered part of combat which allows Janna to just move like a whirlwind in the back of team fights and just shielding left and right which makes it ridiculous since she'll easily be sitting at 500+ movement speed (including her passive 8% bonus as well as her W bonus movement speed) and that is just too much control over not doing anything. By simply changing the terms of being "out of combat" it would only directly affect Janna and not other shielding types of support such as Karma Nami because unlike Janna they actually are more likely to be more proactive in team fights with dealing damage setting up than just shielding.

The second nerf came to me when watching my friend play against a Poppy ! Why not give Janna's Q the Poppy ult treatment in terms of time held affecting the distance traveled? This change alone would change so much of her skill expression between a good Janna and a person picking her for pure safety in her kit.

Anyways I'd love to hear from everyone about these rather simple changes I had and would love to hear from the lovely Janna mains out there and see if this would make them cry and or fall from Plat![slayer-jinx-wink]

Funny thing is, janna has the lowest base movespeed in the entire game by far @315 (was already the lowest @320 a few patches back), and is still too fast.

nerf R healing amount nerf sheild just a little bit boom balanced. but nope Zephyr and passive MS is clearly an amazing nerf that'd totally make her balanced!

she's so strong because her heals from her ult and her shield compared to other healers/sheilders is very overtuned imo
