What if Season 5 Brought Back Immobile Mid's?

For example, an item like this (And for now I'm just gonna slap a name on it)

Cloak of Magus 70 AP 400 Health Unique Passive: Upon taking damage from an enemy champion, this unit gains 2% bonus movement speed. This speed is increased by 2% for every 1% of health missing. Unique Active: Instantly gains 200% bonus movement speed for 2 seconds. Passive is disabled while on cooldown. (60 second cooldown)

Recipe - Giants Belt - 1000 Blasting Wand - 860 Recipe Cost - 440

This item would be beneficial to many AP mids with no mobility because it makes it easier for them to catch out an enemy, it offers a little innate defense, and it isn't too overwhelmingly strong, because the active would allow the ability to follow up on ganks, or even make an engage if your team doesn't have a proper one.

Or maybe even buff Rylai's so that instead of simply slowing the target, hitting a champion with a spell would slow them, and and steal some of that movespeed for themselves. It's kind of like Trundle's spells, but for movement speed.

I don't really think this would work. As with most items that seek to improve one aspect of an outclassed champion (the mobility of immobile mid champs) it could do far more for the champions who are doing the outclassing. Just picture this item on Katarina.

Well it's my theory that for champions like Katarina, it's sort of a different story. Katarina isn't ranged and would have to dive deep into the enemies to get any use from the item. In that case, she could be CCed and killed. Also, the item doesn't really give much Ability Power, and that's generally what assassins thrive for. I do however, possibly see it on champions like Lissandra, and that could be bad too. I'll reconsider.

I think it's more of an issue of roaming than anything else. The passive speed boost would allow assassins and mobile mages to get between lanes even faster than they already can. It could end up creating a snowballing nightmare, but any idea is a good idea if talked about before implementation.

I can't come up with my own idea at the moment, but something that rewards immobility might be better than trying to cover that weakness.

People don't pick low mobility champions because "they are not fun". Low mobility champions barely even see a surge in popularity when they are strong (i.e.: Azir, Xerath and Syndra).

Either way, mid lane variety is relatively high and pretty much everything works there in SoloQ.

They could also make Quicksilver Sash build into an AP item. I think that would help too.

I would get this on Hecarim. It makes me laugh an evil laugh.
