When Making A 'Pick'...
...should anything be considered, prior to executing?
Note: This is a Silver II pleb speaking, so please, go easy on me will ya'? :p
Anyway, I've noticed that a multitude of players within my games (both Ranked and Normal) have had moments where they try to 'make a pick', throwing practically their entire kit at an enemy champ who may or may not be completely isolated and then complaining to the rest of the team if it goes sour.
By 'sour', I mean cases where the rest of the team is nearby but not close enough to be able to follow-up (in a timely manner) with the 'pick'. Cases where the supposed "isolated enemy" isn't truly isolated and everyone but the person 'making the pick' notices. (i.e. vision; not tunneling) And sometimes cases where the pick, even if successful, will gain the 'picking' team nothing in return. (i.e. maybe a tower, drake, baron, etc)
So, I ask again, should anything be considered, prior to making executing a pick? Personally, I like to make sure my team can at least get a drake out of it. Or, at the very least, a tower or two.
Are these players focusing too much on opportunity and less on possible reward? Or am I simply putting too much thought into the process? I really hope someone can shine some light on this 'dilemma' of mine. Thanks in advance!
