Hi, so recently I have been playing a ton of Alistar and I have been enjoying him.
My question is: I am having trouble with Alistar's early game and I want to know how to improve it.
Also, is it possible to do the W+Q combo without knocking someone away, (not using W on a minion as well.)

Indeed it is, and it's quite necessary to do well as Ali imho. Practice it! You kinda gotta start the Q while the W is in motion, if memory serves.

Most important thing about Ali's early game is to learn to recognize when you can go aggresive, and when you should just chill back and heal up. Think if you can cast all your combo on enemy - including stun from E, and how much damage will your enemies deal to you in return.
