The biggest problem with ARAM

So, I enjoy the heck out of some ARAM every now and then and today I've noticed a bunch of threads popping about the game mode.

A lot of people think that the huge issues with ARAM are bot accounts (that are almost all wiped out once you hit 30), ARAM only accounts (which are few and far between, but people feel more justified blaming a loss on someone gaming the system), and RNG (failing to realize that they get OP comps just as often as the enemy).

I think an even bigger problem is that a lot of players just can't enjoy ARAM for what it was designed for: a fun, chill, game mode that you can hope into and have a semi-quickish game. Too many people get upset that the enemy has Ziggs, Karthus, Veigar, Cait, and Blitz and can't enjoy a game where it's supposed to be a nut-job free for all in a single lane.

You can still be competitive and want to win, but enjoy the game for what it is. Next time you get stuck with some crapbird (no offense to the birds Anivia, or wannabe birds Azir and Xayah) champion, just have fun with it. Build some random craziness and have fun. Do your best to win, but do it with a smile.

ARAM accounts aren't few and far between at higher MMR. Literally just played against a guy whose name was ARAM-based and he had Fiddlesticks.

Enemy team was Fiddlesticks, Lux, Kayle, Illaoi, Warwick. We didn't get a turret.

How is that a problem with ARAM? Thats a problem with the playerbase.

ARAM only accounts (which are few and far between

Is that why there is a significantly noticeable difference in champion play rates for ARAM? Select ARAM on Howling Abyss under Pick Ratio Per Game for the last month. Clearly this is not because players make aram only accounts. It is like Rengar, Kah'Zix, Zac, Vi, and almost all other Junglers are never picked up by the average player. But apparently almost all ADCs and god damn Teemo are apparently rushed to be bought by every player because clearly there are so many ADC/Teemo mains out there.

and RNG (failing to realize that they get OP comps just as often as the enemy).

Right, because "random" and "just as often" are synonymous.

it's supposed to be a nut-job free for all in a single lane.

Come on, we all know that this is not true. Almost every game is completely one sided. Where either the team who gets super far ahead early win pre 20 minutes, or the team with more tanks eventually out scales. Free-for-all means that everyone is fighting. But way more often the case is that one team is poking the shit out of the other with no chance of them returning any kind of damage.

League's biggest problem is attitude. Only in League have I ever been chided for trying to win a game.

It hasn't anything to do with mode. I see shitty attitudes in bot games, too, where literally nothing is at stake and you should be able to win without any commitment. Bot games! Why even bother with an attitude in bot games? Holy damn.

EDIT: When in doubt in ARAM... build a sheen item and run full tank! Sometimes, being able to blow their cooldowns is all your team needs. I can't tell how many games I win because my health bar is the only one they can ever manage to deplete. Go ham or go home, boys!
