How does Tough Skin interact with armor?

Just wondering, does it apply before or after reductions?

I don't think it's possible to do 0 damage. It shouldn't be.

Armour reduces damage by a % so I doubt Riot would let it hit 0

Mathematically, you cannot do 0 damage. Armor causes you to receive damage according to the multiplier 100/(100+armor). As you get more and more armor, you get more and more closer to 0, but never getting 0.

Of course, due to rounding, you will eventually be dealing 0 damage

You must have missed the part where Meddler confirmed that the Mastery that reduces 2 flat damage takes effect AFTER armor. Meaning that you'd need to -2 from your final value of damage mitigation. Meaning that it is actually possible to take 0 damage.

well you can deal negative dmg as nidalee if your AD is reduced low enough(since she has the lowest base ad in the game)I'm quite sure the combination of exhaust+trundle Q should be enough (you can even do negative crits I'm quite sure) Amumu can take 0 dmg from minions with some armour thanks to Tantrum's passive

Exhaust doesn't reduce your AD, it reduces the damage you deal. You'd need Tryndamere and Trundle to get the AD reduction you want.

unless your DCed and thus get massive bonus armor in base, it isn't possible. I theory, the way the masteries works, with high amounts of armor it works. But even with 800armor, there is still 12.5% damage left, so with only 20 raw damage, you have 2.5 after armor, 0.5 after masterie which then should be rounded to 1. And by the point someone gets 800armor, even minions should deal over 20 raw damage.

That's correct, you could in theory zero out fairly small amounts of damage with sufficiently large amounts of Armor plus Tough Skin.

Or alternately a Mumu with ~100 armour VS creeps.

But what would happen if someone had even 1 armor pen? No matter how much armor you would have, they would still deal at least 1 damage? Or if tough skin negates that damage, then 3 armor pen.

Well, it would mean you would have one armor less. Which, in the grand scheme of things, wouldn't make a difference, because it would still be like 98-99% reduction or something like that.

This is how amumu can stall off infinitely large minion waves, in those "1000 cs in 2 seconds" videos. Flat dmg reduction on E plus armor stacking makes him take little-to-no damage from minions.

I plan to abuse that this Thursday in the Sion Project: Operation 50k, Amumu and Garen will stand at the bottom and top minion spawn points of the Nexus, and hold minions there for Sion to kill, granting him ALL THREE LANES TO FARM AT ONCE!!!

Does Doran's Shield apply after mitigation too?

ExecutorDill1 votes

yes

Crett1 votes

Last I heard, it doesn't.

i thought so.

It's nice that it functions after reductions... however. Tough Skin still sucks.
