Those places where you look up your 'MMR' are doing their own calculations for it, not seeing the actual value Riot has associated with your account or that game. Basically, they don't mean a whole lot unless you use them as a general means of tracking trends over time (If they show the 'MMR' of your rmatches has gone up over the past month, then your actual MMR likely has as well, but there's no telling by how much).

That aside, These could be broze players coming off a winning streak, so their MMR is actually quite a bit higher than bronze.

Their MMR may be much higher than their current rank suggests just as yours might be much lower. Third party sites only have a rough estimation of your MMR because they don't have access to that information; take their appraisal with a grain a salt.
