Syndra's Niche (Passive Idea)
Now, before I get into detail about Syndra, I'll just say I am by no means a master at League of Legends. I am not some Diamond ranked player with 200+ Syndra games, and I am definitely not the one to balance Rito's game for them, but I have definitely played Syndra more than the average person and have put sweat and... well I won't say tears... into this champion. I've mained Syndra since she was released back in September of 2012. I even memorized her lore because I was so in love with her! But anyways, she's gone through some rough adjustments as many other mages have. Since the removal of Deathfire Grasp, Rito was working to buff up mages to make up for the transition and to simply strengthen their roles and niches in the meta. However, most if not all champions have a signature style or something that makes you say "SYNDRA!" yet the only thing I think of for Syndra is "BLACK BALLS!" so this passive will be more unique and shout Syndra when you see it.
My proposal for Syndra's niche is a new passive that retains the idea of her current one.
Alright, so in Syndra's lore, her power has been slowly sealed and ebbed away to a more standard level according to the Ionians' judgement. Syndra, being too powerful, was to be chained back due to the fear of her being unable to control it. Syndra's current passive kinda reflects this by allowing her to become stronger as the game progresses. A lot more could be done with this passive, something to truly reflect her lore.
Transcendence
Syndra's mana bar is reverted and called her Power bar. The more abilities Syndra uses, the more Power she gains, causing the bar to increase. She gains damage on her spells based on the amount of Power she has. Syndra will damage herself if she reaches her limit and continues casting. Her Power will begin slowly decaying once she stops casting for three seconds. The maximum amount of Power Syndra can gain is increased each time she maxes an ability. Using Unleashed Power will expend all of Syndra's current power.
- Amount of Power: 100 [+100 per maxed ability ]
- Bonus Damage: 5% per 50 power
- Full Potential Damage To Herself: 5% of her current health per spell used
- Decay: 3/4/4/5/5/6% [Increasing every 3 levels]
- Power Gain: 10 [+10 per maxed ability] per spell used
She will no longer have the mana problem that is constantly holding her back, however she's going to have to manage her spells throughout the entire game instead of rapidly spam everything. She still has the low cooldown Q if she ever needs to get quick power. This passive would honestly go very well with her kit, having it require setting up using other abilities, yet will also even further raise Syndra's skill cap. Syndra will be able to have up to 50% bonus damage at the later stages of the game. Now that's transcendent power!
Details
- Power bar is purple instead of blue
- Syndra has no true limit of power, it's just she becomes unstable.
- Great power comes great responsibility
