Could Zyra do with a buff to her mid?

I used to main Zyra mid, back when she was actually decent in the lane and on her own, but jeeze. They are just slowly butchering her mid with each patch. It breaks my heart to see her decline. I never enjoyed Zyra support, what I enjoyed was Zyra mid. Now when I play her mid, I either do well, or just flat out feed. She doesn't have the pressure she once had and her viability is sub-par at best.

My Solutions:

  • Decrease the spawn radius of her passive by a small amount. This will decrease the RNG in her passive and will allow her to at least slightly control where her seeds will spawn a little more so than she currently can. On the live server, your seeds could spawn out of lane entirely
  • Increase her plant scalings to 25% from 15% and reduce her base scaling from 29 - 114 to 22 - 98 to allow her to scale better into the late game if she were to go mid instead of support.
  • Compensate for her loss of power in the support role by increasing her root duration from 0.75/1/1.25/1.5/1.75s to 1/1.2/1.4/1.6/1.8 seconds so that she has a little more set-up potential in the bot lane.

I'm not a balance expert, so don't take the numbers too seriously!

they wont buff zyra as long as shes that disgusting on support.

they need to nerf plant damage early and change how removing her seeds interacts with everyone.

main roles matter more and support is zyra's main role.

if riot can balance the game while only considering a champ's main role then we can talk about intentionally supporting off-roles.

The reason Zyra isn't really played mid is the same reason you don't see Zilean or Vel'koz to an extent.

They have high damage, but lack kill potential solo. Their combo will usually leave their enemy on around 80-90%, but with an ADC they can finish them off quickly.

You have played Zyra like three times this season and apparently not in previous seasons. She's fine as she is and holds her own well in mid. You might rework your tree. You might reconsider your runes. Zyra appears to respond best to her own rune/mastery page. I have good luck with my general Zyra Experiment build in both bot and mid, but I mostly play bot. Look it up on OP.GG if you want.

Main thing is questioning how good you are with her. A couple games isn't enough to really know how well she can do. I also question your item choices, like morello.
