morde is a MAGE not a juggernaught. you mains have to realize he cant get buffed
morde in his current state is a bit more than 50% winrate. all the mages saw a winrate drop since the rylais nerf, morde isnt alone
you cant really buff mordes kit much without creating an imbalance. morde is a tankbusting "juggernaught mage". even though riot called him a juggernaught in the juggernaught rework, hes not truly a pure juggernaught
morde is a "juggernaught mage" is how i would describe his kit
in moba games, you create a champions kit that seems like it flows well and has interesting synergy, and then you balance the numbers and the power budget to give it a 50% winrate
thats what riot did with morde, created the kit, and balanced the numbers to give it a 50% winrate
and what you have after everything is done is NOT a juggernaught. even though riot called morde a juggernaught, hes not, hes more of a "melee mage" or a "juggernaught mage"
and i think that is a fine balanced design. its fun. morde is kinda the only "juggernaught mage" in league. and its fun for him to keep that niche
heres what i mean by a "juggernaught mage". morde is a melee mage because unlike true juggernaughts (garen darius) morde has ranged damage, and alot of it. darius/garen are basically melee only
and unlike a true mage, morde is melee, and morde has shields / massive melee damage instead of CC. other mages have CC to punish nearby targets that try to gapclose his teams ADC, while morde instead has his Q for massive melee damage to punish neary targets that gapclose his teams ADC.
So other mages have ranged autoattacks and slightly longer range, morde gets a shield. other mages have CC, morde gets a massive-damage Q that just kills nearby targets instead CCing them. morde just "kills" targets for his adc with Q, instead of "peeling with cc". and if no targets try to gapclose, morde still has E and R for massive ranged damage
mordes power budge has most of his power in E and R. E and R are mordes most useful abilities, Q is more like his "CC in the form of massive damage".
mordes E is very reliable and high aoe damage on a low cooldown, that also provides him alot of shielding
mordes R is basically "i click this, and you get deleted" lategame with a full damage build. and that is mordes power
mordes power is he can press R on the enemy TANK lategame, and delete their TANK. and tanks are the most valuable class in league, so mordes power to DELETE THE ENEMY TANK on a longrange point click instant spell is extremely valuable to a team. most of mordes power is in his R, and its ability to essentially turn a fight from a 5v5 into a 4v5.
mordes ability to nearly delete the enemy tank with a instant click longrange point click spell is what allows him to win half of his games in plat+ games where skill levels are equal amount teams
you really cant buff mordes numbers much anywhere without creating an imbalance. you people trying to "chase" and "stick to targets" with morde are playing him wrong. the way you play morde is you farm, then you group 5v5 with your team at level 16 and press "r" on the enemy tank with a full AP build and delete him. making the fight a 4v5
and when the fights a 4v5 and the enemy team lost their tank but you have your tank, its kind of a free win for your team
i truly dont feel you can buff mordes numbers without creating a imbalance that would quickly have to be fixed. morde is POWERFUL in his current state. morde is a MAGE first, juggernaught second. morde is leagues only "melee mage" currently. (rumbles sort of there too i guess. but the straight damage to 1 target is less than morde. but rumble has more aoe) mordes strongest combat contribution to his team is as a mage that deletes the enemy tankline and outputs tons of ranged damage.
mordes Q is his "cc", its not his identity
