Potentially returning to LoL after a year's absence

So, stopped paying attention to the game just before Yorick's rework was released. Burned out, had other things to do. Now I'm curious how League is doing in the current year(tm). I assume the general top, mid, adc/supp bot and jungler meta is still ironclad as ever, but surely there have been other developments; apparently there's a new player leveling system? The game is especially snowball-y, with high damage and quick matches? If you have an opinion on how the game has changed over the past year (for better or worse), do share.

worse, unless you enjoy changing champs every few months based on what is more broken / busted for that duration. if you like that you gonna have a good time, if you enjoy playing only specific champs, you should stay away. rune system is busted favoring certain champs over others. new champ is busted 1 shots pretty much anyone with very little skill required. ADCs snowball like never before can down a tank in 0 time, do more dmg than nuke mages (not more than new champ tho, she has the highlight there)

if you decide to return, good luck, you'll need it
