State of Corki

Hello guys!

Corki has been my main since season one but during this season and the last one I kinda strayed away from him in order to become a better ADC with other marksmen... that being said I was thinking of coming back to play Corki steadily but I got to see his stats on champion.gg and to my surprise he's been plummeting hard, currently at 46% win rate.

I do recall that masteries used to benefit him a lot during 6.6 and in 6.7 his autos got nerfed from 110% dmg to 100%, these love taps apparently sent his copter to the ground, is Riot aware of this? will he get some compensatory buffs? do you think that Corki players just need to find better build paths for him?

I must also add that I don't like his package thing, people just play defensively and most of the time you feel like you wasted it, even if you let it sit, it feels like a waste.

zzzzzzzz champion.gg doesn't give the full story, try to avoid trusting it, take it with a grain of salt nothing more, he is still a solid mid laner and a safe adc pick.

of course of course, I did play a game with him and didn't do so well, It still kinda felt like the Corki I used to play but somehow... less?

They simply took away his ability to solo carry the game, and reverted him to what he always was, a solid team fighting poke adc with mixed damage.

Honestly I feel you are just rusty

Looking at your latest game you bought a Phantom dancer, Phantom dancer served you no purpose against that comp.

4 champions on that team are very good pick makers, and also 2 champions on that team stack defensive stats

you had no items to help you survive the bust nor any items to help you penetrate the resistances they had

hex drinker would of done you wonders, or hell even a QSS. a last whisper or a blade of the rune king would of also been a great help against the tanks.

Another thing i observed is the front liners on your team were over all very bad, 0/11 rengar 3/9 maoki

The volibear was nothing special either

I also noticed you have a lot of deaths.

The observations are this is what happened

For the first 14 minutes of the game it was back n forth with kills being traded, semi in your favor. However a major team fight breaks out at 14 mins beggining with rengar getting picked by varus and than lux nuking a whole bunch of you, after that a tower is taken.

after that the enemy team begins to semi snowball the lead taking objectives left and right untill 24 minutes where you get a solid teamfight and you start doing to the enemy team what they did to you.

However at 28 minutes Wukong puts on his carry pants, gets some picks and after that Rengar and Maoki go full tilt mode. Making even more awkwrd fights and picks. Eventually With a group of bad team fights, your rengar and maoki tilting, and you building incorectly with maybe some bad positioning here and their, your team lost.

TLDR Analysis- Tilting Op

You are absolutely right, I was really rusty, I do know how items work on the other adcs but when it came to corki I didn't feel like any of the attack speed items were good on him nor Infinity edge, I realize bloodthirster wasn't a good choice either but he isn't like the rest of the roster that has crazy synergy with some items, I think I just figured that I needed to maximize the damage from my skills by building AD and magic pen... I honestly don't know why I was so lost build wise, Rammus made it hard to find a good build path as well.

Generally I don't rush the armor pen item, after a trinity edge it all gets really fuzzy.

Maokai and Rengar were a tad crazy on their own and Varus/Janna were on point predicting Rengar.

I'll try to play another game as Corki, hopefully I can get a hold of myself this time, thanks for the advice!
