Normally you can still tank skills directing at your teammates and auto attack, but if blocking attacks isn't going to reduce the damage your team receives and auto attacking is going go get you caught in the mess, doing more harm than benefit, then the best you can do is distract your opponents with all chat.
I wouldn't advise insults though. Generally you want to say things that make them slip off their chairs. So far, I find "I know what's in your cloud drive" most effective.
