Regarding Ivern

First off, this post is not about his balance or anything, but more about when the right time to play him is.

I notice a lot of times he is picked into "Protect the ADC" comps in lcs or even just strong supportive team comps, but when is this pick not viable in high elo?

In mid-plat (where I am) This champion seems like it has a 50% chance to be useful. Either your team is helpful and you shielding and snaring helps them secure kills, or your team is brain-dead and no followup is given or they still die with the shields. Lately it just feels as if this champion's ladder % respectively is going down. More and more brain-dead people are playing carry roles like mid and ADC, which makes ivern feel almost useless as a supportive jungler. I know this is rather biased however it feels like there should be a team comp based reason other than just supportyness to pick him.
