How Does Ranked Matchmaking Work

i played a match jungle earlier as lee sin. I started the game of well getting a few kills and starting to snowball. Bot lane kills draven then get double killed back to back and then constantly fed him. We managed to stall the game out only to delay the inevitable, at the end of the game i went on my op.gg and looked at that match. I am gold 4 and everyone else in that match was silver except my jhin who was bronze 2. How did i even end up in that game i thought that i should not be put in a match with anyone in bronze since i am 2 divisions higher than them.
