Can we revert the last 1 or 2 Yasuo buffs

Disclaimer: I'm a Dia 4 Yasuo main

He was fine before and his winrate went up by about 2% and his pickrate skyrocketed with that combined with the Triforce build becoming mainstream. They were really unneeded.

If Yasuo ever becomes strong enough to be FotM, its a likely that he is overpowered because he is supposed to have a reasonably above average skillfloor (similar case: Azir)

The two buffs he got was his movement speed up by 5 and his q cooldown which is now 4 seconds in each rank. I don't feel like he needs nerfs on him.

Making his third Q proc on hit and increasing this shield by 40 at al evels were thr last 2 meaningful changes

The first change I mentioned is particularly interesting because that alone made his winrate go up by around 1.5%

iirc correctly it was only a half-revert

Fuck yasuo.

Making his third Q proc on hits was actually a bugfix rather than a straight buff; his tornado applied on hits on release as well and they broke it a few patches later. It also only applies to his ranged tornado. His E-Q combo has always applied on hits and that's how most Yasuo's will use their knockup on you anyway. Having on hits apply on the tornado is nice but that value is largely limited to getting a long ranged shiv proc to get CS you would have missed before. I can think of only 1 time where the ranged tornado applying on hits has actually gotten me a kill.

The shield on the other hand was a pretty nice buff for the more aggressive Yasuo players and has won me a number of duels that I would have lost previously. However, the shield is still a massive shadow of it's former self. I'm honestly not convinced that Yasuo is really much stronger than he was before. I'm far more convinced that the League community as a whole is just much, much better and more experienced at the Wind Samurai. I think he's basically like Riven at this point; an average champion propped up by a highly experienced playerbase. Most of his hardest counters have also been nerfed or aren't played nearly as much anymore. I've had a 55-56% win rate on Yasuo for over a year now; nothing significant has really changed for him. The triforce build emerging as the standard is interesting but ultimately weaker in most situations than the old Shiv IE rush, imo, and its immense popularity is odd to me.

As someone who played him since release I remember making a thread on the old forums asking why his 3rd Q didn't apply on hits Yes it was a "bugfix" but I don't see the point in doing it now after nearly 2 years when he was fine without it

By that logic, we shouldn't fix any of Yasuo's other intermittent bugs either since he seems to do fine as is.

I agree that the Trinity Force hype-train has gotten so big. Shiv > IE rush is so much better then Shiv > TF. Not to say that TF isn't viable on him, but it is far less efficient for the cost and trade-offs with IE.

It makes him a lot faster and a little beefier, making him easier to play (bigger margin of error) and harder to play against. In other words, the popularity of the build lowered his skill floor by making him a bit harder to punish and able to soak a bit more punishment on top of that.

Yasuo actually has a 51% win rate at the moment while being a popular high-skill floor champion which is leading to me to believe he is a bit stronger than intended at the moment.

High skill champions aren't really supposed to have winrates over 50%. Most of the community isn't able to master difficult champions, so if Yasuo is winning more than average games, it means he's effective even if he isn't be played right. That's not a great sign considering that high skill champions can do so much more when played well. If your average player is 51% effective, the high skill champions are likely a nightmare when played right.

Perhaps, but don't forget a lot of the wins are because some people are noobs and can't figure out how to play against him.

I won't deny he's pretty dang strong, but people just don't seem to understand what Randuin's is, nor do they know what baiting the w or poking his shield is.

If anything, revert some of his nerfs. That way he'll quickly be Olaf'd/Kassadin'd

I'd say just revert the shield buff, or just nerf it hard again, but god fix that AA bug after an ult or an e+q, this is so annoying when you only need 1 aa to kill someone :|

Yasuo has been FOTM since release.

People used to call him trash in the beginning of this season and you rarely saw anyone play him aside from his mains in ranked before he got a couple of buffs. Currently he the 6th most popular champion in the game and it's getting pretty annoying

He would be the most popular if he wasn't so hard to play. You actually have to put some time in on him to be good, but once you do, he is OP as hell.

As I said below, I think the main issue with Yas right now is that the TF build makes him a lot faster and a little beefier, making him easier to play (bigger margin of error) overall and harder to play against. In other words, the popularity of the build lowered his skill floor by making him a bit harder to punish and able to soak a bit more punishment on top of that.

The other issue I've bitched about in the past is that any mouthbreathing idiot can feed their lane and lose their turret and still end up getting fed by mashing R within 1200 units of a non-idiot teammate with a knock-up in their kit. You never appreciate how bad this problem is until you start dying repeatedly to the 0/10/0 Yasuo you bent over in lane.

Some obvious examples:

Lulu ulti. Riven Q. MonkeyKing ulti. Vi ulti cc on top of ulti cc. Azir ulti. JarvanIV Q. Malphite

Some ridiculous examples:

Volibear throw. Singed fling. Nami Q stun lifts enemy up. LeeSin R knockback. Janna R knockback. Draven E knock-aside. Quinn E vault with a displacement so small it's not even visible. Trundle getting bumped by terrain. Anivia getting bumped by terrain. Syndra E knockback. Blitzcrank grab. Darius grab.

You really can follow around almost anyone and collect kills or assists. Only the worst of the worst Yasuos can manage to not be fed just by mashing R around teammates, and the free ARpen makes the damage stick far better than it would for other dps behind enough to not have a Last Whisper yet. That's the problem I have with him.
