Support Objectives

Can we add objectives to the game, that only supports can activate? So instead of creating overpowered items for the role whilst trying to make these items so lame, no other role would want them, we could have like Shrines or alters or whatever you guys can come up with, to give the support more of a roaming playstyle instead of making them the marksmans btch.

The idea is simple. Lets say from minute 3 onward or alike, objectives like scuttle crab come online, but they can only be taken by the player of the team with the least cs. So you need the support to come and fight for the objective. Having hardly to no cs is pretty much the main defining attribute of the support player on the team. Why can't we have that be a requirement to accomplish things in the game?

For example: You could have like a shrine top lane, that enables a team buff. Doesn't have to be amazing, maybe more mana regen or sth. Or you could have defined places you can create vision, just by going there and channeling. Similar to how Ivern can take scuttle. Or maybe you get to pickup a one time Promote buff, similar to Herald,l just on a much smaller scale. Or even just having something like random coins appear on the map for the player with the least cs, similar to the bard chimes.

I agree that everyone should take part in the vision game, don't get me wrong here. But being a little better at it and giving the support a more defined role in the team should be what makes the role attractive. It's similar to how all tanks need to deal damage or nobody will, just there for the support role as a whole, there are still so many opportunities that haven't been tried.

Anyway. These are my thoughts. What do you guys think?

I think this is an amazing idea, your concept just sounds too much like "freefood for the jungler" to me tbh. It will need a lot of finetuning and actual effects (mana regen is not even worth walking into the tribush tbh.)

It would be super cool if we got different quests for the different support items to enable different play patterns to succeed.

The idea of shrines and alters is a cool idea but it feels like a rip-off of what Skarner does. I can't think of any better ideas though.

Supports already have more than too much shit to do, especially as the community further quintuples down on doing absolutely nothing but teamfights and damage.

Wouldnt work well. Who is the support? How do you determine this? Blind Pick is still a thing, and role swaps are a thing. And if you do it on a champion by champion basis, what defines a champion as a "support", and whats stopping me from using them elsewhere to abuse this?
