Rakan Build path question and poll...
TL:DR
Do you prefer Face of the Mountain or Talisman on Rakan?
So a coworker and myself we're discussing the general standard build path for Rakan and we couldn't decide who was right. So we wanted to make a poll and see what the community thought...
My build path, which we'll call this build path A, goes like this:
Start:
, which you would quickly build into your early core which looks like this
,
, and
Under ideal circumstances your build path would progress to
(tier 2 of your choice, whatever fits the match best),
,
, and then either a
or a
. Which I think the decision of Locket vs. Redemption is just a decision of what best benefits the team at the moment, and then you would immediately prioritize the other afterwards.
So end of mid game looks like this:
,
,
,
,
, leaving your last item for whatever you deem necessary for the game, whether that be a
,
,
,
,
, or
. Which this last item largely hinges on play style and needs of the game, so this list is not exhaustive of what you may or may not choose to build.
Now the advantage of my build is that if you get to the late game and you have a full build, you can sell your
and build a
. Because you no longer need the experience or gold, it makes no sense to keep the Talisman, and exchanging it for a righteous glory grants you more health, a similar active, and good mana/health sustain.
So the final build would look like this:
,
,
,
,
, last item being a fill, and later exchanging your
for a
.
Now my coworkers build path is a little bit more rigid, he suggests this as your build:
,
(whichever tier 2 fulfills your deepest desires),
,
,
, and then either of these items as the match deems necessary
,
.
The main goal of this is build to focus on Rakan's shields and ability to protect the ADC. A major flaw to this though, is because of Rakan's AA range he cannot use the passive, "Spoils of War", meaning it may not be as gold efficient as going Talisman. If you forgo the righteous glory you lose movement speed and a slow which can be great for engages.
line since he's ranged and it's harder to proc the effect of the
line unless you do go with some higher AD runes.
