I really can't rationalize the thought any other way. I got to the top of Bronze 1 (80 LP), play my 1 additional placement match, win, and get demoted to Bronze 3. I don't get it. Can a rioter please explain what needed to be change that literally everyone should drop 2 divisions?

I went up 9 divisions.
That's still messed up, but the problem is it's not consistent. If everyone was consistently being placed too low, it would be an easy fix. Also, I got placed Silver III at the start of season 6 and climbed to Diamond V. You're gonna get placed low. If you didn't, you wouldn't be able to climb anywhere!

I understand I can climb back up if im git gud enuf. But why should I have to! I beat plats and diamonds and riot says oh well that wasn't fair????? If we go 8-10 let us start where we left off. It is not a big deal. You won't lose money, no one is getting hurt but the people who pay for you guys to continue doing your jobs. We are not all masochists who enjoy the pain of being screwed royally every year

Not so much complaining as I'll climb right out of this, but I'm wondering what needed to be changed that caused everyone to universally drop in a serious manner after this 1 additional placement game.
Snowball4u1 votesits fixing the mmr this is about where u were supposed to be placed. Usually at the end of the season people drop around a tier. This season, most people were randomly getting placed in divisions regardless of their mmr. The system was also placing players in games with an mmr higher or lower than they deserve (which is why if u look at my match history im going something like 17-0 every single game)
basically, wherever u were seeded before was just a random placement, that didnt match with your mmr. Where you are now SHOULD have put you where your placements should have put you.
