Blitzcranks R Passive (Reupload)

This is just something small, but I think it would be fair if blitzcranks 'R' passive only activates on neutral monsters if he is previously in combat with them. It can be annoying walking through the jungle to roam and then the gromp starts attacking you, especially if your already low and running to safety. Don't even get me started on clearing wards @ baron and drag.

Edit: 12/29/2015

After seeing this many replies in under 24 hours, I think it is clear that this should be fixed.

Apocalypse Meow: I AGREE!

Deep Terror Nami: The worst is needing to go clear wards in Baron pit; you gotta Ult before you walk in XD

Luffy The Pirate: Don't get me started on frikken baron and dragon... Hello, just placing some vision... Baron: ROOAARRRR DRAGON: GET HIM.

Saianna: The same idea came up about 3 years ago.. Riot didn't care at all... So maybe now :)

Chespin2013: Yes please this needs to happen. Whenever I try to clear wards at drag/baron my passive will just go and they aggro me and deal damage to me that I have to leave or else I'll get caught by the enemy team.

F5 To Rethresh: On a more serious note, I would like to see this change (if possible).

J Moormann: Agree. I can't clear wards around Baron without ulting first or losing half my health to Baron.

The passive should be replaced with something else honestly - even in lane it's extremely annoying to have cs die to bliz or make last hitting harder due to the passive. The support is suppose to help you farm - not make it harder.

Thank you for the response. Hopefully we can stack some up and get it noticed before next patch.

The next patch is already pretty decided so definitely won't happen by that point. What would you suggest for a passive if it were changed altogether? Or would you have it activate only on enemy champions? Or a toggle ability?

I think it would be smart to instead have it activate on things that attack him, but with a cooldown. If the enemy attacks you, it would make sence that they would get shocked, doesn't it?

Blitzcrank Primary role: TANK Secondary role: FIGHTER

Why in the name of flaming baby jesus would you nerf him in ALL other areas just because hes being taken as a support?

What? I'm just talking about his passive.

This isn't an outright nerf. The idea is that, while you're doing ANYTHING near a neutral monster while his ult passive is up, that the lightning bolts that randomly fall down will hit and aggro a neutral monster. This means that if you go to clear a ward in Baron, or are running away and the bolts hit ANY neutral camp, that it will aggro on you. This means that if you have low health, ranged or epic neutral monsters might secure the kill on you, or in the case of support blitz, Mobi Boots and Wanderer Mastery could be disabled (assuming you've managed to keep on that 'dear god I'm making it!' range of the chasing enemies). The goal of the change is not to disable it from hitting neutral monsters. It's to prevent it from hitting a neutral monster before you have already aggro'd or been aggro'd on by it. This means if your hook aggros the chickens, they immediately become a valid target. If you damage Baron, it becomes a valid target. If you're just walking by dragon trying to place a ward, it won't flip its lid and start trying to roast you while you clear the enemy ward. Enemy champions aren't included, from what I believe. How it interacts with minions in this case I wouldn't know, nor would I know how to prevent it from stealing CS while not making it ignore minions in a solo lane if he ends up in one (perhaps making it not target a minion, ONLY minions, if the bolt would kill it?)

The net end result would be: Blitz wouldn't have to fear for his life warding or ward clearing Baron (even if you happen to be a team-focused solo lane), he wouldn't have to fear getting executed (or kill-secured) because he walked a little too close to a neutral camp when he just barely flashed away in time to live, and he'd overall have an improved experience. I personally despise laning against Blitz, and still understand why this type of change is needed. I've intentionally never played Blitz because his style isn't quite mine, but if I'm correct...if something is hit by the lightning bolt in a strange, inopportune place...couldn't it hit you and interrupt a recall? Either way, this only seems like it intends to do good. If you believe it corrupts his other roles, offer a solution. Outright rejecting it because it takes an inch from one area to give a mile in another is corrosive to his progress as a champ.

(This post is probably all jibbered and jumbled up, but I'm hoping I got the basic point across. Sorry if I offended or misrepresented something! Either way, thanks for reading, and I hope that you can get this change rolled out!)

Then lets do the same for sunfire cape.

No More Cages

The (small) difference here is both the range and design of sunfire as an optional item. I actually wouldn't be averted to seeing Sunfire not damage units unless you damaged them within a time window. The issue is brought up with such urgency for Blitcrank due to two things, however: his nature as commonly a support who's more likely to be warding in this method (rather than blues or sweepers in the current meta, especially) and the fact that as a strong tool, his ult itself, a skill that he's (by technicality) required to get causes this problem. Within the first 10 minutes of the game, it's possible for warding dragon to be a problem depending on how lane goes.

In jungle-passing situations, Blitz's ult passive can pull from some pretty inopportune ranges (and this is specifically reiterating an example I saw where trying to back in the bush, Blitz's passive pulled red and got him killed when the enemy he had juked saw it move). With a sunfire, unless you went to hug the VERY edge of that bush and aggro'd one of the minis, you likely wouldn't pull the camp like that. Sunfire does have the problem of making you apparent in tight corridors, revealing you in bushes if someone steps too close, or breaking non-combat effects if you just run too close to something. Blitz's passive shares this, and yes, I think they should botj be dusted off and chiseled a bit.

Sunfire wouldn't lose any of its effective power if, once again excluding champions preferably (or including them only if the enemy champion has no vision of the cape/passive user?), it didn't tick damage on something until it was in combat. This would also mean that attacking one minion should allow the whole wave to be damaged, since the 'call-to-help' should cause them to enter combat if they're not already in combat with other minions.

Please, help me refine the concept or bring up an alternate one. Even thinking of ways this could function in an ideal environment is better than lounging around (although bringing up sunfire is already a huge bonus to this thread, kudos to you sir!). With the way this is going, we could probably at least peace together some kind of vision of what, in total, we'd hope the end result could be so that those who view this thread (reds or even normal forum-goers) get a clear image of what we mean.

Thanks again for reading, everyone who let me waste a portion of their life! EDIT: And yes, PLEASE correct anything I got wrong. I want this to be an informational debate trying to dig down to the nitty gritty, no a biased argument where we attack each other. [slayer-jinx-catface]

His R is bad business for last hitter's and jungle wanderers everywhere. Please fix riot.

Honestly, tbh? I'm salty and don't want him to have anything nice.

And I'm going to post the same thing I did last time.

"I'd rather they just change it to something like

Passive: While Static Field is not on cooldown, when Blitzcrank is attacked by an enemy he lets out a bolt of lightning that deals magic damage to the attacker and all enemies between them (For 75% of the damage). This ability can not be triggered on the same target for 2.5 seconds.

Bolt Magic Damage: 50 / 100/ 150 (+ 20% AP)

Makes him much more of a threat as a tank since enemies attacking him will get zapped and if it's the ADC then they could end up dealing that damage to their allies. Also means you don't have to worry about taking your ADC's farm by accident so long as you don't draw minion agro."

Also, please no more last hitting minions when your adc is near :(

About 200 games on the grab-bot, here. A thousand times yes to this suggestion.
