so can we just revert the sejuani rework please?

I Main Swain··10 votes·1,521 views

as much as i appreciate being able to clear a lot better early and burst people down better/have more single target cc, i would take the goddess-of-teamfights sejuani that i always knew and loved any day over the ability to guarantee 1 persons death. i will say that her clear power was crap until later in the game and in general her early game was VERY vulnerable but that could be fixed with some mere numbers buffs or maybe adding some bonus damage to jungle mosters on an ability or something. either way, this new kit is not Sejuani

CARRY

TANK

Read as Juggernaut with mobility and CC?

Ahristocats2 votes

yes, nothing wrong with that LUL

old sejuani when viable was like Release Centaur warunner in dota2

old sej was cancer af, if sej mains want old sejuani back, then at least do not bring in any circonstance old W, new W has more skillceilling, counterplay and less damage, than running around to deal massive damage and slow with E afterward

I Main Swain2 votes

her w didnt deal massive damage and it was in a relatively small area around her, most of the damage was on the empowered aa so if she didnt land that she would deal either no or relatively little damage, assuming she was still close enough to hit you with the w at all. she was frankly not that hard to deal with, if you dodged her q or better yet if you had some kind of disengage you were totally good to go, not to mention her early game was very VERY exploitable to the point where nobody would ever play her. i think you're remembering specifically sejuani during the time immediately after cinderhulk became the op thing, which riot promptly nerfed along with her. i will say that her current w is a much more interactive and skill-based ability, but the old one was by no means overpowered.

Ahristocats1 votes

sejuani old W AFTER NERF dealt 1000 damage in late game, and had low cd, and had no counterplay

you ignored a tank that brought engage and CC and STILL DIED due to undodgeable damage

i know that riot won't revert her anyway, so i'm glad

having played a ton of sejuani back in the day and looking at her pre rework stats right now, i can confirm that that is bull crap bud. even if you built pure ap hypercarry, her w would deal that much only before factoring out any magic resistance (and when i say pure ap hyper carry i mean like 900 AP). if she were that strong and had that little counter play dont you think she would have seen a LOT more play?

Ahristocats1 votes

why are you talking about ap when W scaled with HP?

after nerf her W had 10% hp ratio and 480 base damage

[{quoted}](name=I Main Swain,realm=NA,application-id=3ErqAdtq,discussion-id=EhPKnsWM,comment-id=0003000000010000000000000000,timestamp=2017-07-24T22:35:50.459+0000)

if she were that strong and had that little counter play dont you think she would have seen a LOT more play?

because she was band-aided with nerfs that destroyed her and wasn't allowed to be viable because when she was viable she was just too much reliable

I Main Swain1 votes

because her hp scaling was only 10% whereas ap was 60%, and while yes she did generally get a ton of hp it certainly wasnt enough to deal 1000 damage with her 160 BASE DAMAGE on her q (idk where on earth you got 480 from) especially not when you factor in magic resist. and sejuani was never too reliable when she was viable. she was too strong when cinderhulk got overbuffed but even then she was never too reliable, especially considering how vulnerable to disengages she was (and still is).

you're right, it didn't have 480 base damage i was wrong

however it dealt %hp damage of the target+12% of sejuani hp+160 so yes, it could reach 1k without any counterplay

I Main Swain1 votes

i see your point, but honestly the damage imo wouldnt really need reduced very much just because A) its only in the area immediately around her and B) it's over the course of 4 seconds. i will concede that it may have dealt too much damage, but i think only a small reduction would have sufficed.

Iota Theta1 votes

10% HP scaling on a tank can easily surpass her AP ratios. Using your 900 AP from above, that'd be 540 damage. That's 5400 HP (provided it was Max HP. I can't recall), which was easily obtainable as a tank with cinderhulk while also gaining armour and MR from items. If she was short, elixer of iron would get her there.

Dude... Your talking crap. i don't think u know anything about sej. her new rework is rubbish. I get pentas with old sej once tanked perfectly now this rework cant let u do that. Old sej is a beast man and u could easily push lanes in team fights. i Can bet how lesser often u use the new sej now as compared to the old one back then.

Big Lincoln1 votes

i don't care about the old kit as much as i want the feeling of it, but improved upon

Do what old Sej did (lower CC, high damage tank) but with a win condition that requires her to ramp up or do something. it needs to feel good to play (new sej does not) and it needs to be fairer to play against (new sej accomplishes this, at least in terms of the damage she does being avoidable)

but TBH i would rather her damage be semi-reliable with a slight condition, and then make her CC very conditional

Ahristocats1 votes

a tank DOES NOT DEAL HIGH DAMAGE

go play something else, or read the definition of a tank there is a reason zac can no longer 70-0 an entire team with E+R+w while bouncing

Big Lincoln1 votes

then call her a bruiser and make damage items worth buying

MagicFlyingLlama5 votes

I dont know about you, but i like having an ability to do something between ult cooldowns.

I Main Swain2 votes

i never felt useless while my ult was on cd as the old sej. got a nice knock up, some decent but not op % hp damage on her w (although they switched it to her q at one point i think), and a VERY nice multi-target slow. especially if you had something like iceborn or rylais (i was a fan of rylais on sejuani), i never felt useless unless i got behind, which was really her only real problem. she got behind to easily, early game too weak and exploitable, everything else was balanced and nobody had any complaints really.

Big Lincoln4 votes

at the very least they should heavily retune this kit to function more in line with the old one

a LATE GAME TEAMFIGHTING CARRY-TANK and NOT a support with melee ""synergy""

PentaDenier3 votes

I hate playing her now also. The old team fight ultimate was better and I liked the aoe on the w and being able to slow all targets with e.

All these reworks are just making me make a new account so I don't have to play reworked champs in ARAM anymore.

I Main Swain1 votes

literally exactly my sentiment, i miss my aoe cc queen of the freljord

Dirty Bastard2 votes

Sej is an out of control monster atm. Guaranteed death of 1 person is pretty much success on top and mid at all times that she wants to go in on them. And if heading bot, almost always a success.

I think she is pretty OP and I learned the hard way the other day that she is very hard to stop.

I Main Swain2 votes

her e is a stupid design honestly. like i said its nice to have extra hard cc and burst playing AS her, but its poorly designed and it feels like crap to play against. other than that i dont have a huge problem against her, but regardless of anyones opinion i think most everyone can agree that her rework was a mistake.

Attticus Finch2 votes

Nah.

The better clear alone is enough to make her rework a success. And taking one key player put of the fight completely is significantly more useful then slowly building DPS throughout a fight.

I Main Swain1 votes

i would much rather have not had her entire identity as a champion changed than had her clear speed early game increased (emphasis on early game, ive found late game old sej could clear faster) and her given the ability to pretty much guarantee the death of 1 champion. so far as ive seen most sejuani players agree, and i know for a fact most people would say it feels like crap to play against.

Report Evelynn2 votes

I actually enjoy her reworked more.

I Main Swain2 votes

could you explain why?

Report Evelynn2 votes

Well, I actually really like her E and that other melee champions can help you to stun enemies. I think the new passive is great as well, i just don't like the visual effects. (I guess sejuanis visuals in general) Sure, the old ultimate was SICK but im ok with her new one. (Btw im not the one downvoting you)

I Main Swain1 votes

its fine, every time someone doesnt like someones opinion on the boards they seem to go and downvote all their comments no matter what they are. i like her e in some ways but honestly between her new e, new ult, and new passive, i feel like im playing a lockdown assassin which just doesnt feel right. i will say that i like the new passive SOOOO much more than the old one, i never liked the old one, but i would prefer her being a teamfighting tank with solid aoe cc and damage but weak to kiting and disengage. i cant quite put my finger on it (or on what i would rather have) but im not a huge fan of the damage passive as far as balance/gameplay, even though i love actually being able to be useful early (not to mention the lvl 2 scuttle crab instaclear)

Chibi Bronzlife1 votes

Sejuani is perfectly fine right now.

I Main Swain1 votes

care to explain?

Kloqdq1 votes

I think Sej just needs some other function in her ult then the current one. She has a 4 second long CC train that once you are looked into it, will probably horribly die. Her ult just needs to be something other than a single person death sentence. If they removed the stun and amp'd the storm elements that would probably be cool.

I Main Swain1 votes

personally i wouldnt like that because most people's vision of her, what made most people start playing her to begin with, was her cc, without the stun on her ult she'd probably tank really hard in viability, she just couldnt contribute enough (not to mention her identity would be trashed imo)

Mizaya1 votes

Honestly, as a former Xerath main I can kinda feel your pain.

I Main Swain1 votes

i barely even remember old xerath, its been so long. i remember he was a huge pain for me to deal with as a classic Salt V player

Trestani1 votes

no, if they won't revert the balance train wreck they call the zac rework. They sure as hell won't revert the sejuani rework

I Main Swain1 votes

that's kind of terrible reasoning friend
