Someone told me not to get Armour Seals for Orianna Against AD's.

TL;DR at the bottom if you don't want to read a short story. My friend and I happened to be discussing League of Legends today at school, just out of boredom. We came upon one of my favourite champions to play, Orianna. So I said that she has an excellent and well rounded playstyle that can stretch for all points of a game, except for her early game versus AD mids, as she takes too much damage and will need to take Armour seals and Cloth Armour start to compensate. (I normally take scaling or flat mana regen seals Middle.) My friend says.

"No, your E is more than enough to help you survive early until you achieve a Seeker's Armguard. Maybe a Cloth Armour if you want, but definitely, the Armour seals are not needed."

"But, but 90% of the time the resistance bonus from E doesn't matter since it's not even on you."

"Then just dodge possible skillshots and avoid all-ins."

"Nobody can play perfectly. Jungler ganks are inevitable, and the seals will be useful then. And who can dodge 100% of all skillshots for even 6 minutes?"

Pointless debate ensues, but the principle of it stands.

TL;DR: I think armour seals and cloth armour are necessary vs AD mids as Orianna. My friend said that the armour seals are not necessary, and that your E can compensate for the lack of armour. What do you guys think?

I take armor seals with her to lane by default in blind and never bothered to make one without armor yellows for ranked.

You should start E in lane and if that is the case you shouldn't even be taking damage when you trade with AD mids. This is even true when you take doran's instead of cloth 5. As long as they don't auto you whatever ability they use will be negated by your shield. You should be up in hp at level 3 against all AD mids unless you cannot dodge ranged harrass from the likes of talon and zed. Again tho, since AA is a thing and you are playing a champ that AAs and will be in range for return AA even against other ap mids i dont' see why you wouldn't take armor seals. They are bad now, so maybe hp...but still.

Take the armor seals and go doran's instead of cloth. You'll get more that way than taking like mana regen seals and going cloth to start. You controlling lane and being able to push them out of lane is important so you can push them off cs. You getting them behind in cs pushes of their power spike and makes it so you don't have to rush a stupid seeker's.

Armor seals for sure.

According to what people have argued with me before, you need lots of mana to hard counter AD, so get Tear.

I would say get the seals due to the fact that Ori is mana hungry early.

I run armor seals vs ADs and flat HP seals vs APs. Works pretty well for me..

Static Armour verse AD comp (no-brainer) Scaling HP verse unknown mid-laner.
