League is not League anymore (Small Rant)

Ever heard of Ship of Theseus? League has changed dramatically since the time of veterans. Whether that's a good thing or not is opinion. But I've seen many posts about people not liking League anymore because it doesn't feel like the League they once loved. That's because it isn't the game they once loved. IP? Gone. Traditional Runes? Gone. Masteries? Gone. Dominion? Gone. Summoners? Gone. Old Lore? Gone. I could keep going. Many may say: "There are posts about people quitting League every season!!!" And I get that. But I feel like this is a boy who cried wolf situation and this time the wolf is really here. I know Riot changes the game to keep things fresh but I feel like they changed too many things in the recent seasons. Things that made league, League.

Now, I would like to talk about reworks. There is nothing wrong with the idea of rework and wanting to better champions. But it IS wrong to make the rework feel like a completely new champion. Many one-trick-ponies that loved the champion feel like they lose everything they loved about the game when that happens. With all these massive over-haul reworks no wonder people feel like it's not the same game anymore. Cause it isn't. For example, let's talk about Aatrox. His new kit would be great for a new champion but what you reworked him into feels nothing like old Aatrox. Both gameplay and lore wise. Here you are alienating a portion of your player base. "But there aren't that many Aatrox players OP! Lululul!" Yes, while that may be true, know that if you keep alienating small amounts of players with all these over-haul reworks then it's going to add up to a large amount alienated in the end. People fell in love with a game, if you "update" (change) almost every single thing about the game they fell in love with of course they won't like it anymore. It's not the game they once fell in love with. Memories of fond times with League feels like memories with a completely different game. The fond memories don't make you want to play again, they are just that, memories. .....of a once loved game.

These over-haul reworks aren't just limited to champions either. They include many things such as items as well. How many times has riot completely "updated" (changed) the items of a class? I'm pretty sure this happened at least once for each class.
