Any way to earn Little Legends in TFT?

Like many others I find the Little Legends characters a fun addition, but I don't like the price tag attached to collecting them and leveling them up.

Is there any way to earn them through playing TFT or are we stuck having to buy individual "eggs" if we want to level them up?

I don't mind the select your Little Legend of choice option which is around 5 dollars or so, but I don't want to spend 30-50+ to level up one specific color or pattern. : /

I believe this is coming with the missions launched next week, based on some of the early visuals (from PBE) it seems like they'll be doing a battle pass type of system that rewards you for playing with eggs, probably wont be free, but i'd assume it'll at least be cheaper.
