So, Zed After Patch 6.9

Here's my take on zed atm. According to champion.gg Zed's winrate has only increased by 1 percent since the last patch, which is much lower than I thought it would be. I think the reason for that is because games are actually going passed the 30 minute mark a lot more often then they used to, and what this means for Zed is that, the enemy team is able to tank up, split pushing is less effective, and teamfights breakout consistently, and even with the nerf to QSS, Zed still does not have the best teamfight.

Therefore, as much as i would love Zed nerfs, so i could actually play my main a bit more, balance wise, I dont think he is really as big an issue as people thought he would be.

If you'd like to discuss, please keep it civil XD

I ban him every single time i have a ban option, regardless of how good or not he is, entirely because his kit needs to be gutted and reworked. It is the worst thing in the game to play against. Id rather go against a malzahar than zed, at least malz is fair to play against with real counterplay.

Even if the chance of losing with zed is lower than that of malz?

Even if the chance of losing with zed is lower than that of malz? While I feel your frustration, I dont feel that zed is in need of a full rework. Maybe a minor change here and there but nothing serious.

I can counter malz (kill his minion, auto attack his passive, ward dragon (sooooo many supports i play with dont do this early now and they need to and its really upsetting....)

The counter to zed is literally pray you have reliable CC for when he presses R and enough burst to kill him before he can R/W away for free, and hope that your carry doesnt die to the ult in the mean time. So basically countered by nothing in the Elo i play at; one person does not a carry save make.

I guarantee you part of why his winrate is so high is because PvE clearing the jungle is easier than knowing how to play against him. Malz isnt as powerful as people want to believe.

Minimal winrate increase is probably because his ban rate skyrocked to space so no one could actually play him.

idk, he still has a high-skill cap, i honestly think his win-rate would drop if his ban-rate would decrease, because more people would play him thinking he is an absolute freelo champ like master yi, when he isnt nearly as easy to play successfully, especially in this current meta.

There's also the fact that several of his counters are extremely powerful and played quite frequently atm. Think kayle, kindred, taric, janna, and lulu.

The other thread basically summarized it.

ADC mains who never even bought QSS anyways: "OH NOOO MY QSS"

Zed's banrate is up above 75% at Plat+ according to Champ.GG, that alone is more important than his winrate.

Dude is incredibly overpowered right now, he was already overpowered on the last patch.

I don't feel like much has changed between now and then. Yes sash is gone, but games are much longer than they used to be and zed still has a bad teamfight. Zhonyas is also available much earlier making it harder to snowball

zed still has a bad teamfight

No he's not, his main weakness in teamfights was sash. His assassination is still just as safe as ever, but it's also super reliable now. He's probably the best champ in the game right now at getting on top of and blowing up an ADC before they can react, which is a huge teamfight strength.

Zhonyas is also available much earlier making it harder to snowball

Zhonya's is also a much weaker item. If you're playing a mage you optimally want to avoid ever building a Zhonya's. Zed forces mages down an even more sub-optimal itemisation path now.

um what, you can't just fly in to a team at any time and expect to get a kill with zed, you have to plan just as much as you would with any other assassin. Zed's aoe damage is also lackluster due to the damage reduction on multiple hit q's, and if you really are skipping out on zhonyas against zed, you're practically writing your deathwish.

The games are also a bit harder now because the game is now in a tankier meta, so if zed fails to assassinate the adc, his teamfight prescence is extremely minimal.

What is it that they even changed last patch that is making people freak out??? I've been rereading the patch notes for like 20 minutes and still don't get why everyone is like "BUT ERHMEGERD ZED"

sash only removes cc now.
