Conqueror vs PTA for Jungle?

I know, a real game play oriented thread, gasp! Seriously though, I have a question for the community.

I've been getting into using Conqueror on junglers for a couple of reasons. First is that if I'm mid way taking a camp it primes Conqueror so if someone else comes up to take the camp from me or contest then the first hit activates it. Secondly, because I can switch targets while fighting and not lose the keystone bonus plus the AD is nice for the champions I play.

When I check out suggested builds and what other people are running on the enemy team in my games everyone runs PTA though. I mean, like, EVERYONE.

I'm not high elo and I play a lot of Udyr and Warwick Warwick Udyr . Am I missing something? Why is PTA so popular?

Honest question.

For Udyr, I definitely agree with using Conquerer if you like it (I personally just prefer PTA).

However, for Warwick, granted I'm not exactly the highest ELO either, but I do know that the PTA 12% damage increase actually increases the damage his passive deals. This increase also means an equal increase at 50% health or 3x heal increase at 25% health for whenever you auto someone. Q and R also both count as basic attacks and, as such, both deal the passive damage and trigger the passive heal. While the bonus AD from Conquerer can be argued to increase the heal on Q and R by increasing their damage, the passive doesn't scale with anything, as as such, the 12% PTA damage increase is the only way to improve this.

Conqueror is bad in the jungle. You'll never have it charged up in time for a successful gank. If you take PTA it's easier to proc and you let your laner do more damage too.

Basically the reason why more jungles opt fro press the attack is that it doesn't take time to start working. In lane Conquerer is almost always ready to trigger because you spend a lot of time in combat with minions. In the jungle it just takes too long to actually have an effect because in most scenarios you are not goin to have time to stack it up. Obviously the situation you mentioned is one where you will be able to use the keystone but in other situations like invading the enemy, dueling in the river, or ganking you will be without a keystone for 3 seconds by which time the fight could already be decided or the enemy has escaped, while PTA acts immediately. Also in ganks or skirmishes PTA has an increased value by amping the damage of your teammates as well.

Late game the true damage from Conq really helps but as a jungle thats not what you are playing for.

Basically conq takes too long to come into effect in most jungle scenarios and PTA's effectiveness increases when playing with your team.

Pta is good on Warwick because his ultimate apllies PTA stacks. PTA is mostly preffered over conqueror for junglers because PTA stacks on AA's and AA based spells meanwhile conqueror takes some time to proc, and by the time it's ready, the gank is over(whether if it was a successful or a failed gank). It's like wanting to take Grasp over Aftershock for jungle, really. The only exceptions are MasterYi and jungle Tryndamere though.

Ty for the responses everyone. Sounds like I really need to at least switch it over for Warwick. Didn't know it affected his passive.
