How much honor does it take to get first checkpoint
I swear I've had at least 50 honors and I'm still at 0 our of 3 checkpoints, what's going on

It's not just a flat number of honors, I believe. As far as I understand, the system looks at your behavior as a whole: how many honors you get, but also at what frequency (1 every game is better than 1 every 5 games), how often you get reported, if you're aggressive in chat, if you afk, etc.
Even if your number of honor is high, if you do bad on other aspects, you still might not reach higher levels.
But all of this is speculation, it has never been officially confirmed. Bottom line is, just try to be a good team-mate and a nice person, and be patient. Keep in mind, climbing in Honor is supposed to take close to the whole season.
