How do you climb in ranked?
I posted the below a while back, it got down voted. That pisses me off more than losing a match. There is no reason to down vote this. Read what I have to say, THINK about it first, and then decide.
For example, I was Voli last game....our GP at top who was 4/1/1 destroyed the enemy Nasus...I was doing well too, I was 5/2/2 when he said our vayne sucks and said he was going AFK. And he did.
The game before that, something equally stupid happened. And before that and before that. Things that are completely out of your control.
So....HOW do you climb when there are so many stupid people? I don't get it. Its beyond frustrating which (duh) is why the community is so toxic.
Yes, lets all be polite after wasting 5 hours to lose every match because of stupid teammates. Sorry, but that's not how human nature works. Go put a pro athlete in a game with random teammates and tell him is personal reputation and stats are on the line...and lets see how nice he is during the game and after.
Solution is that your individual score after a game gets increased or decrease based on your performance.
For example, if you lose a match but go 10/1/5, instead of losing what your MMR dictates, lets say, 16 LP, you lose an amount less than that based on your KDA, turrets taken, and creep score. So maybe you only lose 8 for that match. And if you win and kick ass, you should win more, like maybe 26 LP instead. And some games you will just win or lose that 16 because you were average.
This way, players will have some control over their climb even with a lost match---and that feeling of control will mitigate the frustration that comes from feeling powerless.
This is entirely reasonable, and I have no idea why this shouldn't be implemented. Great players are great players even with losing teams. Junior Seau of the Chargers (football for all of you nerds) was great player, but in a shitty team. But his individual performance still shined through (despite his team losing all the time), and he was known as a great player.
