Steraks gage tenacity discuss

Mordepool··1 votes·1,091 views

So I've been buying the item every game since the rework, more often than not with Mercury treads added synergy as well. I can't think of one moment where the extra tenacity had any impact whatsoever and more and more I'm starting to think that it was added simply as a way to drive up item efficiency without giving anything Meaningful.

Discuss.

Also Please give examples where the tenacity on Steraks active made a difference.

Its good against mages and champions that rely heavily on cc which is situational...but even then steraks is a good item for trinity users and Aatrox due to his base ad steroids.

Trust me, i can tell its really tilting for that morg support to land her q on me the tahm kench support and the root wouldnt even last a full second because I got item 3111 item 2138 legend : tenacity and that rune in the green tree that gives you tenacity for summoner spells on cd.

Problem is, alot champs right now either dont rely on cc or tenacity doesnt reduce the cc that they provide *malz ult, alistar knock up, trist ult, etc

or they have spammable cc *cho, ashe, rhylai`s / frozen mallet users such as teemo.

It feels tacked on and inneffectual honestly I would have thought a cleanse effect on the second instance of Hard cc within a 2-3 second window after the 1st is applied is what Juggernauts need

That would be great, I agree! But too many bronze and silver players would come onto the forums and complain that they keep procing the cleanse in every group fight and not communicating.

Im fine with it doing that but then again thats an item that hardcounters a few champs just because of the way their kit works, and not even because of the damage they deal or because what they are... its simply because of how they cc.

Rakan ult knockup = cleanse? Maokai Leona Amumu Caitlyn small list of champs that I think would be able to proc it just because of their combo, provided that sterak`s popped recently.

And yes a caitlyn chain trapping someone is a combo.

Yeah I mostly just use the item for the flat AD bonus to go with Trinity Force, or to synergize with Titanic Hydra.

Wish lichbane had a better synergy so I could run it on Morde.

I suppose yeah :< It would be nice to see better AP Bruiser itemization supported.

On that note, how do you feel about Hextech Protobelt and Hextech GLP 850 on Morde?

Situational pick vs slippery targets or area Control mages.

Sejuani Camille Jax Leona Maokai Morgana Ornn Warwick Zoe Malzahar Have you ever been cc'd by one of these champs? Great, pretty sure you've made use of tenacity from sterak's.

WW and Malz suppress and are unaffected by tenacity. Of the rest only Camille Zoe and Morgana have the burst necessary to proc the the shield annd that's after you have been affected by thier cc. So what's your option you have been chunked and can run away while thier cc is on cooldown anyway. Or re-engage on low health.

You have 8 seconds with bonus tenacity to decide

Fears, and silences are affected by tenacity. Also no one says they are the one procing sterak's. If you are in a team fight anyone could have proc'd it but it still protects you from cc. The major problem I have been having lately is that They have counters for certain styles but people who spam shields have no equivalent to grievous wounds, and things that are unaffected by tenacity (basically all the noticeable cc Blitz/Alistar/Thresh is using you) are feeling more common place than things that I would be worried about using tenacity against (basic stuns, roots, and slows).

Looking at the last few champions released (mainly tanks, and supports who I would expect to have a lot of cc) you have

Zoe Pretty sure sleepy bull crap bubble needs a mechanical overhaul with how the wiki says it interacts with things. Honestly I can't even claim to understand this >.> Ornn Mostly knock ups, I don't think he has any cc that tenacity effects. Kayn Has a slow, which in his bruiser(?) form becomes a knock up losing its tenacity vulnerability. Rakan Half and half I think, though the most prevalent form of cc would be the one that isn't his ult (so the one that ignores tenacity). Xayah A snare with steeper conditions than most cc so whatever I guess? Camille Well she has a stun, and her ult so the opposite of Rakan I suppose. Ivern He has a root, and can call a pet mob that has a knock up of its own. Kled Mostly displacement effects I think.

I could list the remaining three released post 2016, but its another adc with a snare, a mage with a stun and a displacement, and a mage with kind of 2 displacements.

The point I am trying to make is out of the last 11 champions CC that is immune to tenacity is very common. So while you might not notice the effects adding it to Sterak's Gage is having, that might be because it isn't? I don't know though take from that what you will.

I don't remember the post but a guy did an in-depth analysis of tenacity and it only effects 36% of all cc in the game Counting all sources

Yeah that is kind of the issue, you have tenacity being this rare stat, that I have heard streamers call 'Valuable' but is it really that valuable anymore? Even when you have it it stacks multiplicatively so multiple sources really stretches it thin so every source after the first doesn't really even add that much. That being said my issue with shields is kind of more frustrating than cc I can do nothing about. Some of the strongest ults in the game have non-mitigatable CC (Malphite for example) but those are still ults, but when there is a major issue that can be handled via tenacity (Morgana's 9 year snare) it is nice to have. Well, it would be in most cases except you usually don't have any real tenacity without runes until mid game (if you built Mercs) and around that time getting caught by a Veigar super stun, or Morg root will likely be followed by enough damage to kill you before that tenacity reduced cc wears off.

Or at least that is my view on the matter I guess, and that view probably isn't worth much anyway.

Hence why slippery hyperbolie champions are meta. Get in do damage get out. Or poke poke. No risk all reward

It's procced based on total damage taken over a short amount of time. If you are teamfighting and get cc'd by one of those champs, chances are other opponents will be hitting you too - possibly causing sterak's tenacity to proc. Thanks to the temporary hp shield it gives, you can absorb a decent amount of that damage without actually losing as much hp. This let's you still be alive to decide if you should continue the fight or bail. If you use your spells correctly, this is where lifesteal can come in big - healing you back up a ton of your missing hp and making further cc used on you less impactful. While ww and malz might ignore the tenacity of sterak's, the are almost certainly proccing it - giving you a nice shield to reduce their damage dealt AND decreasing the duration of follow-up cc that others are likely to throw at you because chaining cc onto someone suppressed by malz or ww is pretty easy.

It doesn't feel like the Tenacity making a difference because everyone has displacements coming out of their asses.

Your getting off topic. No matter how much I agree with you.

honestly i think the change hurt bruisers more than it helped because their core build got way more expensive, with the tenacity being pretty much useless. Only person who i feel benefited was gp because of the extra base ad

For Juggernauts with high base AD it's actually really gold efficient at later levels
