Anyone else find it REALLY hard to believe there's that much Esports/no gameplay interest on Reddit?

Something really doesn't feel right about this. All these posts about things "Pros are saying" or "teams they're moving to" getting thousands to tens of thousands of upvotes when the Esports "hot" tab on these forums can barely pull 4 upvotes. I know that votebotting is a thing but could I really don't see how it could be that dramatic of a gap.

I saw a few gameplay posts on four pages, here are a couple examples:

One was Hashinshin talking about AD's being bad (1100 upvotes roughly)

Another one about the new Dark Harvest being bad (114 upvotes).

One more about a possible Jhin/Varus meta again (400 upvotes)

. . There's around 2.1million people in the LoL subreddit. I don't know the actual number on here, but I'd be amazed if it was more than 1 percent of that given the usual vote totals. . . . You mean to tell me on a board that has a tiny fraction the population of the reddit board not only has a thriving Esports scene where here has none, and only gets about double the gameplay upvotes on similar topics? Maybe it's just me or a bad take but it really does seem suspicious.

Yeah.

It's annoying with all these retarded esports posts that crowd the front page:

"LOOK THIS PRO RETIRES, WAIT THIS PRO HIRED/GOES TO THIS TEAM/WAIT THIS PRO SAID HE WILL GO THERE THEN HE WENT TO RIDE ON MERRY GO ROUND WITH HORSES" "LOOK THIS PRO FARTED OMG"/ "LOOK, THIS PRO MOVED TO LIVE IN TIMBUKTU"/ "LOOK THIS PRO GOING TO ARMY, WAIT, THIS PRO PLAYS WITH HIS TEAM, THEN HE WILL GO TO ARMY, WAIT HE NEEDS FIRST TO GO TO ARMY THEN PLAY PRO LCS, OH WAIT HE IS PLAYING LCS WHILE IN THE BOOT CAMP" "SNEAKY nuff said/do pro (trap)"

OMG ESPORTS, SO COOL

There're close to zero gameplay discussions and given the recent mess that Riot made with the 8.23 patch - I haven't seen HUGE DISCUSSION CONNECTED WITH THAT???

wtf

Why is it surprising? The league reddit is heavily modded and has a huge community. It is a reflection of what the mods want it to be.

Now compare that to any Boards balance thread. It has 873 comments right now.

Or look at the Patch Notes threads, look, the last one had 2k upvotes and 2k comments and majority of them are talking about balance.

TBH most of "pro"players are fake as fuck, they only care about the money but not about the game itself and the balance.
