Yorick is similarly absolute garbage, and frankly I find him a lot more interactive and enjoyable to play against than most common top laners these days.
Also, Illaoi is 100% counterplay. Everything she does is sluggish and very clearly telegraphed. I mean for fuck's sake, you can displace her during her slam jam animation and it will summon her ult where she lands after you knock her back. She's so full of counterplay there's very little 'play' in her actual kit.

Edge of Daybreak1 votesIllaoi is bad now and she was has been bad since release. The fact that you are surprised by buffs is the only thing that raises questions and worse it's an insignificant buff. Like seriously take this time and learn to click left and right rather than complain.

Also of note, I've never considered her mana costs to be an issue... What a peculiar buff.
Quepha1 votesAfter lane phase, trying to land her E is the only thing she can do to be useful and it's incredibly hard to land. Maybe the high mana cost would be justified if it was as impactful as a blitz hook, or had as much range, or traveled as fast, but it is none of those things.
