Can you stop first timing champs in ranked ?
That would be really cool
That would be really cool
i did this once back in season 4 when i was new in ranked. i was last pick and i got top. my opponent was jax so i quickly looked up whos good against jax, i saw malphite and quickly locked in malphite despite having never played him before. i had never really played top before and quickly found myself 0/3 with 25cs at 11mins. there was nothing i could do.
the reason i did it was because i thought i was helping.
but what i learned after just a single crushing loss was that it was more important to understand abilities and how they function rather than just hard counterpicks.
the people you are running into consider the game only to be ranked, and that it literally doesn't matter if its effective or not, win or lose they're here because they dont want to play any other game mode.
and then there are those players who like to request your champs for you. that's always fun.
they can recommend for sure, pick for you not so much.
but if you counterpick yourself or what you tried in general failed.... and we lose hard and i can see you were largely ineffective, i can blame you. and i can only hope you listen to your team next time.
im talking about the players who ban their teammates champs.
so you want to complain that you cant troll pick teemo sup? or something outlandishly dumb with a 20% success rate?
or how about they looked you up, saw you've done this 8x before this game all losses.
or how about you aren't first pick and he doesn't want to chance the champion going to the other team?
theres so many things you haven't considered and here you are auto assuming your team mate is the donkey here.
#the new champion selection guarantees your position, not your champion*
(can still be auto filled cuz screw matchmaking)
wow you just turned a harmless comment into a personal attack. good job.
i also like how you edited your original comment to send a completely different message.
i'll let it go though and reply in earnest.
yes so i can pick something that i enjoy and can play regardless of success rate for other players. all that matters is how much success i've had with it personally and how comfortable i feel going into ranked with it.
it is statistically proven that teammates who ban their teams champions have a higher loss rate than teams who let their team "troll". forcing someone out of their comfort zone is pretty much guaranteeing a loss. especially if a player starts getting flamed and harassed for being forced to play outside their comfort zone.
all teammates that make demands are donkeys. even more so if they stalk your account to personally attack you.
champion select doesnt guarantee anything. all it does is try to remove the argument over who goes where - which it still fails at because of auto-fill and players being donkeys.
Especially when they lock in Twitch Mid, Feed out their ass, but you know it's all about their comfort zone. So glad he got to play what he enjoyed; it only just cost us the game, put my team mates on tilt at the start, and has the exact same effect you accuse other's of implementing on them.
I'm all for unconventional picks, because they work when someone has never had that match up before, but certain things just have me like [slayer-jinx-unamused]. I
:P the way you think it works

the solution? dont tilt. learn to control your emotions and stop being so damn hyped up on caffeine or whatever is causing all of this "tilting". players need to start using a spirit level or reorganizing their rooms with feng shui to help promote balance. there's no excuse for tilting. it's a whiny little kid's excuse for throwing a temper tantrum because they didnt get their way. grow up or seek therapy.

no. not one bit actually. what makes you say that?
because you're the one complaining saying you can do whatever you want its just a game.
but here we are in reality saying this is ranked, you are expected to perform your best. we dont care what you want, you will perform for your team.
you can believe teemo mid is helping, it will do well this time around, or it will be a raging success. but we can prove its not through your success with it.
but in short you dont actually believe teemo mid is helping, you just want to play teemo mid for yourself. which is why we will repeatedly ban your troll pick.

congrats, you did what you wanted, you had fun, but did it work? no. how likely are you to try this again..... in ranked might i add.
im not complaining one bit however i didnt appreciate the personal attack and the edit you used on your earlier comments to try to warp my statement into something it wasnt.
but since you want to know what i think i'll tell you
first - yes. even in ranked players should be allowed to play what they want provided that they are trying their hardest to win. reason? you're not a professional team.
quoted from the summoner code
Being a good team player begins at champion select.** Be open minded** when considering the needs of your team. If you're the last one to pick, try to fill a niche in your team that hasn't already been filled. If everyone's picked and something stands out as a deficiency in your team composition, try asking for another player to fill the gap, or** change roles to embrace that responsibility yourself**. Remember, that by taking on a role you don't normally play, you'll learn more about unfamiliar champions and increase your own skill level.
Once you get in game, try to keep an open line of communication.** Warn your teammates if someone is missing from your lane, or if something is placing them in immediate danger**. If they're not paying attention to chat you can always try pinging the map. Just remember that** one ping is enough!** Also, remember that you have to be there to contribute, so don't leave the game or go AFK! Encourage players who are having trouble, and congratulate those who are playing well. And most of all, if you're having a bad game don't take it out on your team!
now. as for number 2
no you cant. you cant prove anything based on a players match history except that at one point in time they lost a match or won a match. you cant prove that it was because of their build or because of their allies or because of anything because you werent there. you did not spectate the match nor did you partake in any part of the match. as for GG.OP statistics or whatever that site's domain name is all you're proving by flashing those statistics around is how popular a champ is and how well the community as a whole does with that champ. in fact by researching a player and pointing out their faults in their previous games you're breaking number 7 of the summoner's code just to prove a point that is inherently invalid in the first place because it's based 100% on circumstantial evidence.
number 3
by doubting your allies intentions you're not only setting yourself up for a loss by being negative but also inspiring your allies to also be negative. on top of that refusing the allow your ally to play a champion they may do very well with just because you disagree with it is ACTUALLY making you the selfish person who is trying to control what your teammates do and is a reportable offense if you continue to harass and grief the player for trying to play a champion they choose to. all of which breaks rule number 9 and rule number 4 of the summoners code.
WHEN YOU READ THE SUMMONERS CODE AND UNDERSTAND IT FULLY YOU WILL BECOME A BETTER PERSON AND CAN HELP IMPROVE THE COMMUNITY BY WAY OF A POSITIVE ATTITUDE.
you have every right to play the way you want to.
i have the right to play the way i want too as well.
i do not want to be on your team, or paired with you ever in the future, is that clear?
i freely admit statistics.
im playing to win, you're playing for fun.
do you understand yet? we have different goals in mind here.
win for all is a common goal the vast majority seek in ranked.
your goal is not that. i have no way of knowing that. but i sure as hell dont want to see 4 other players let down because of 1 broken wheel.
your goal is not that. i have no way of knowing that.
im sorry what? you have no way of knowing that? thank you for proving my point. you do not know my goals nor do you know if my goals differ from yours. the same as with any other random who is on your team. the moment you ASSUME that your ally isnt trying to win you've already lost. not because your ally chose a unique set up, but because you are negative in your mind set and have already admitted defeat.
congrats on trying to name and shame me. how many more personal attacks and edits to your post are you going to make to try and prove your point?
yes. if i so choose to play critical attack speed janna again i will. for a 4v5 we had amazing split pushing and the game lasted for a lot longer than it should have.
When you go 3/16/2 as Janna in a Bronze 5 match there's legitimately something wrong with EVERYTHING you're doing and you need to stop and understand that.

You are tilted about others being tilted.
no, im not "tilted". im very relaxed actually. i might seem aggressive in my wording, but it's just how i type. so whatever it is that is making you feel that im upset try to suppress that feeling. i promise you im not.

Dude I dont care if you are passed out on acid. If you "type aggressively," that mean you are aggressive for all intents and purposes.
I'm confused on how using basic inductive reasoning to compare the words you said to a tilted person's, finding them similar, and deducing that you are tilted is a "feeling." It's the opposite. It's Logic.
because typing is a lot like a dialect or accent if you're not using 100% proper english all the time to convey your words.
it's not logic. it's assumption based on observation. logic is a bit different.
log·ic1 [ˈläjik] NOUN
reasoning conducted or assessed according to strict principles of validity:
in other words it's a bit more strict than just assuming.

Im with this.
Grow tf up.
I'm just piping in here, saying don't tilt is like telling someone to not be depressed. You can't stop human emotion, and especially frustration, that easily.
you're comparing becoming depressed to the idea of being depressed. one is a momentary lapse the other is a constant state of mind that influences behavior. you cant prevent a person from being depressed but you can prevent the negative connotations that come with depression. if you couldnt then there would be no point in suicide hotlines.
my point is that becoming upset that you're losing is okay - in fact everyone should feel bad that they are losing because that's how life works. if you're a loser you're not a winner. however this is a game that has no life long benefit to anyone other than professionals who make it a career for entertainment purposes. to that end losing a game of league holds little value over... lets say losing a battle with cancer. therefore emotional disposition should run in line with that value. yes it's fine to be upset, but when a player starts to invade the emotional state of others for a sense of gratification or release that player has gone past the point of being upset and into the point of being abusive.
usually abusive behavior has a long history, but the reason will never outweigh the action. abuse has no place in society. any person who "tilts" in a video game and then proceeds to act on destructive behavior is abusive and is in need of guidance.
it'd be the same as this
that's not true thou the majority of times I see someone pick something troll it goes like this
lane phase: wrecks because the opponent has no idea what you are doing
rest of the game: get wrecked because what your are playing is super inefficient and getting 2 or 3 kills in lane dose not make up for your lack of damage/tank stats
its super unfun to have guys like that on my team like hey full tank zed was funny to start with but now you cant assassinate the enemy adc who's 6/0/0
when playing without a pre-made in ranked
a majority of players refuse any sort of change from the standard 1 1 1 2 format.
a majority of players refuse to play without a tank on their team.
an overwhelming majority of players refuse to play without a marksman in bottom lane
a decent number of players will play worse without a healer on their team
assassin's are almost always played mid
jungler has to be able to clear camps and dive.
what you end up with is 8/10 games someone is going to complain. especially in lower league tiers. WHEN/IF YOU BRING a fighter top lane a disruptor support a mage into the jungle or put a marksman anywhere other than bottom.
and then that person will proceed to complain about it for the entirety of the match. spend more time complaining about it than actually playing. usually end up not paying attention to their lane. harass you at every mistake while pressuring you to make more. assist the enemies because they want to see you fail so they can prove their point.
idk what game you're playing but it sure isnt league of legends. you're not even a high enough level yet on your account to play in ranked matches so unless you're a smurf or a reset account (just so you know that puts you at an unfair advantage and completely negates the value of the experience you're having being you're a fresh account that doesnt have to play with the cesspool players from having a higher than basic understanding of the game at that level and being rewarded higher than average mmr per game) so unless that's what's going on i would like to know how you know so much about the experience of ranked.
;^) this is my 4th account that's how i know. i have well over 1k games played on LOL
what you are losing sight of is its ranked. no one cares about off meta in ranked what is cared about is when you are picking something that is straight up inefficient and bad because you are putting your wants over the team needs. yes some people can make weird/troll stuff work they are the minority however.
In league there is no hard counterpick, there are only soft counters.
vs
vs
vs
There are quite a bit more, but that was just off the top of my head.
I wouldn't exactly call Jax a hard counter, when Aatrox is that weak.
they can recommend for sure, pick for you not so much.
but if you counterpick yourself or what you tried in general failed.... and we lose hard and i can see you were largely ineffective, i can blame you. and i can only hope you listen to your team next time.
i would rather someone
(if they are mastery 7 at it) into
than pick
if they are first time
.
My first placement game this season had a misunderstanding where our first-pick offered to pick for someone else and an ally told them to pick Master Yi since he wasn't banned (even though I was the jungler).
Unfortunately, our first-pick thought I was the one who said it and picked them, though they were apologetic when they realized what happened.
Thankfully, I knew how he played since (1) I had been watching Cowsep on-and-off and (2) he had some similarity to Udyr and Shyvana. I ended up snowballing the game early with a few good ganks and carried.
yeah, it's hard to get that cooperation down in low level play. i'm locked in bronze because my mmr is so terrible. literally 15 points below bronze v's level. sigh im thinking about just starting a new account.
I was in Platinum when it happened. Thankfully, we won and I carried since I make sure to know the basics of how every champion plays.
On the bright side, the player who made the mistake was rather nice and we played the next 4 of my placement matches together. We didn't use voice comms or anything, but it was nice to have at least one ally who was friendly and competent.
definitely. playing with players like that makes the entire experience way way way less stressful. it also improves win rates. i think that's what riot was trying to promote when they added dynamic que without solo que. however let's face it - the idea of playing nice is not being embraced.
Eh, I generally never play ranked in a pre-made. I have 4 games (without voice comms) with the player I mentioned previously, 2 games with one of my IRL friends and the rest are solo.
My main issue wtih Dynamic Queue isn't even playing with/against premade; my main issue is the difference in player skill it allows.
Last season, most players in a game would be within about four divisions of one another. This season, they can easily be up to 10 divisions apart (i.e. Gold V and Platinum I), which leads to uneven lane matchups and stompy games.
yes. that's the main issue with higher level gameplay in and around gold to diamond tier. however in the bronze to gold tiers it's the opposite since a lot of players are trying to have their buddies help them reach gold. premades are a nightmare due to the insane amount of cooperation that's just not feasible in low tier solos
I first timed
support in my first game of ranked. Was pretty funny. I would 100% dodge if I saw that now LOL.
first time ap ez in my last game. he went 2-8-3 lost his tower solo to syndra at 10 minutes. finished a 30 minute game with 92 farm. said he "carried" because he had highest damage, all his damage was just ulting them when they were grouped to storm base.
gg no re. minus 20 lp.
Here's the thing, everyone has that champion they main, and as they likely have realized at some point- they can defeat their counters because it's not only about the champion. It's about how you, the player, use the champion. If you don't know how to use the abilities to the right potential- your advantage for picking them will not overcome the disadvantage you have for not knowing how they work.
It's just some people take the gamble and it pays off- no different from flashing towards an enemy to hope to catch them or anything else. Either it will work or it won't. That's the gamble, that's the chance, that's life.
....I've read this over three times, and I still can't figure out if you're agreeing with the OP or disagreeing.

....I've read this over three times, and I still can't figure out if you're agreeing with the OP or disagreeing.
Just did this, too. What the hell did I just read?
i read it 4 times i think... and i might be wrong... that it's saying - just because you try to counter someone doesnt mean it will work. that still doesnt stop players from trying to play champs they've never played before because it can work. - in other words he's not agreeing or disagreeing. he's just commenting to comment.
I used to first-pick Nasus expecting to be countered with a Darius or Renekton. Honestly, at one point I had an easier time playing the counter match-ups than equal match-ups due to the sheer amount of experience I had with them.
What if you got autofilled to your worst position and the only 3 champions you can play there were picked or banned?
dont auto-fill....... just wait that extra 2-3 mins.
If autofill is enabled by the matchmaker you can't just wait it out...
what? i dont know what you mean by that at all. i auto-fill and support a lot in ranked. so maybe i have a different experience with the matchmaking, but i still dont understand what you mean.
