Why is garens ult not instant?

Its an instant cast so why is there a channel? it should ALWAYS go off when you press R provided its off cooldown... shits flyin through the sky but magically disappears? get the fuck out of here

Probably for clarification purposes. Imagine Garen putting you to low health then suddenly, instantly ults and kills you. It would be too oppressive for the enemy players to deal with.

Darius still goes off even if he dies... and hes swinging his weapon... garen drops a sword from the damn sky

I'm fine with Garen's ult not going off if he dies before the animation finishes.

What's NOT ok is his ult not going off if you cast it, then a character blinks away.
