Stop building Abyssal Scepter & ROA. Just stop.

Stop using the same build no matter who you play against. IT DOESNT WORK! AP casters, fuckin drop . It's not useful unless you build A LOT OF MANA and use it in conjecture with . is probably the only caster champion that you should be building it on, aside from of course.

Also, drop . The item's useless. You know why?

Build a and a . Wow, you just traded away 50 MR, and 70 AP, for %HP damage that deals 2% of the targets current HP. BUT WAIT. You also now have 80 additional ability power, 15 magic penetration, 300 HP, and with you are now dealing 4% of the targets current HP, slowing them, and gained another 400 hp. You just gained 700 hp vs 500 hp, 180 AP vs 190 AP, 15 MPEN vs 0 MPEN, 4% HP damage PER SECOND, and your spells SLOW ENEMIES.

Damn, you really needed that MR? Buy some fuckin' Merc Treads, or better yet, DODGE SKILLSHOTS. Wow! So amazing! At least now, provided you can play better than a baked potato strapped to a keyboard using rubber bands, you can turn / into a pile of DUST.

So I know what you're all thinking. "But muh Manas! No manas to cast spells oh nooes!" Shaddup. Just shaddup. No really, shaddup. . Don't like mana regens? Shaddup.

Even better, for those of you who haven't already ran down to the comments below to spew fecal matter from your face into this thread, I'll give you a little tip about . The Attack Speed slow passive? Counts as CC. Build this and a on // with a , and just watch the enemy team get steamrolled by your 4% of current health AOE burn damage.

The only time MIGHT be useful is if you already have the items I've listed, and a , and you're STILL not getting through the enemy MR while facing an ALL-AP team. You're not. You're probably facing a Zed, a Yasuo, a Talon, or some other AD-Assassin-mid laner/top, or someone with low enough burst AP damage that 50 MR won't do jack shit compared to some HP and DPS of your own. Abyssal Scepter isn't going to do jack shit. First off, you have to HIT the enemies with your spells to even make use of the 20 MR reduction on enemies, right? Well shit shucks golly gee wiz, you know what? In order to proc the 4% HP burn, 35% MR ignorance, 15 MPEN, and the slows, you have to, -GASP- HIT the enemies with your spells!

Wow. Abyssal Scepter is sooo useful. You know what you build Abyssal for? As a support, trying to help your APC deal more damage. Last time I checked, / bot is not a viable lane setup in the current meta. So stop building it.

If you really need 50 MR, put it on your rune page. MR itemization SUCKS for casters. We have and . That's it. And to be frank, they both suck. For AR, we have , which, are not much better, but still more useful than the MR items.

So use your rune page. Don't copy pros, figure out where your strengths and weaknesses lie, and setup your page accordingly. As an AP caster, you need to stay back, and don't be running in willy nilly so that your Abyssal Scepter applies to the targets, throw your spells and back away, don't get hit, don't use .
