Why DFT on Anivia?

I don't get it. Enemies are never going to stay in your ult for more than half a second. Sure it can hit AoE, but the damage itself if it doesn't keep applying is terrible. Thunderlord fits really well with her double Q+E...

In fact, I can't see a reason to get DFT on anyone except swain and brand.

DFT is better on poke champs, thunder lord on burst. its as simple as that.

Anivia can really go either way tho. And you wont always get the double proc off Q, if you do than your opponent is Dirt V.

If you're going to hit the stun, you're going to hit the first part lol. I hit it like 85% of the time. Idk where you're aiming lol.

actually you are wrong. just cause you land the stun does not mean you proc 2 hits. Landing it at max range procs 1 hit, and inorder to land the second part of the damage you have to wait until the first tick goes off then cast the stun, and in today's league of mobility its usually better to just guarantee the stun rather than taking a risk to proc it twice.

Specailly VS champs like: Ahri Akali Diana Ekko Fizz Katarina Kassadin Leblanc MasterYi Yasuo Zed

Or get stunned during your cast and miss the stun cause you where trying to proc it twice.

Watch your damage next time you play her, Q does not proc 2 times if you are to quick in casting the stun.

Bro I know how Anivia works. It only takes like a micro second to double proc Q. And you listed her counters. She can't land a single Q on them regardless. If you're about to stun them, chances are the projectile hit them anyway. That's what I meant. Unless you're purposely aiming to have the explosion hit only, then the double hit is pretty frequent.

DFT gives 20% more AP in terms of damage on every E cast and doesn't have a CD.

Thunderlord's Decree gives 10-180 20% more AP in terms of damage on every 3rd hit with AAs+Spells, and has a 20 second CD.

Which one gives more damage overall? Thunderlord's Decree definitely is better early, but does Anivia play offensively enough early into the game?

Yes she does. She has one of the strongest level 2's in the game. Not to mention her level 3 is good too since she can have 2 points in E.

it's the best possible option for anivia. thunderlord's isn't that great because anivia is dot, not burst. stormraiders helps her kite, but if she wants more damage or a free ignite dft is good.

Anivia isn't a DoT mage. Most of her damage is from her Q and E burst. Her ult isn't used as her main damage tooll. It's just there to farm and slow and proc E.
