Unconventional Evelynn Build Help

Hey guys!

I don't know if this belongs here, but I need some help with theory crafting build directions and first items and whatnot, more specifically relating to Evelynn going mid or top instead of the jungle.

Now, I did a couple games of Evelynn mid, went alright initially, but started to see a decline in performance as the game went on, namely that I wasn't given the liberty to wait for my charm to be ready, or sometimes not being able to get close enough to get the charm, or even not being able to kill them at all.

I decided that Gunblade would be the best Hextech item to get because the AD helped with last-hitting when my Q was down, but then after that I didn't know what to build next. I thought that Liandry's would be a good choice to grab relatively soon because Eve is more DPS oriented than other assassins, unless you get the charm, which in that case she gives a good amount of burst.

I then figured that since her E deals % max health damage, that maybe going a tanky build up top might give better results, and have a better chance of having a guaranteed melee vs melee matchup, as opposed to getting something unfavorable like Diana or a Ryze.

Then I started thinking that maybe going a Lethality or Juggernaut (ish) build would be better since my basic attacks would be worth something when my abilities are down, but in exchange would make my abilities not deal as much damage and make trading harder to estimate if they are just dealing the base amounts.

That was pretty much where I left off, just some item builds swirling around, but nothing decided yet since I need to experiment more. But what do you guys think? What might give better results once late game swings around?

item 3152 would be something id use as core personally if I was gonna lane, just for the need to reliably get that W off. That said, you give up a large amount of her kits power by laneing her, she struggles in fights that she does not have surprise on her side as she lacks mobility many assassins use and relies instead of proper positioning and pathing to create her advantage in a fight.

Could try support and running a high Roam playstyle with a mage that has reliable hard CC and wave clear, Chaining their abilitys into your W Q E early game. When you start to meander around, you can wait for a window in lane, or roam, and ideally the wave clear keeps your "adc" mage from being in a high risk.

Im a fan of off meta I wish you the best of luck. (off tank build in top with a high early game Damage jungler might be an option?)

I think runes gonna what makes or breaks it so what are you thinking about running?

Eve mid isn't actullay a new thing, seen it a few times. I agree with the above post; item 3152 would be better on her. She'll need the hp and waveclear. I'd also look at her being a fast clearer then roaming so something to help with this like twin shadows or Spellbinders would put her in a great spot with waterwalking. Lichbane is also great on her for added burst and procs off her E making it's on hit effect great.

Mana for Eve in lane is an issue so you might want to consider a tear on your first back, seraphs is a great item later for her thanks to the shield and high AP, and if you want it Muramana has an on hit effect too meaning it again works well with her E.

Good luck, keep playing around with ideas and you'll find something that works :)

I find that Evelynn is best during laning phase after she has her ultimate. I find it fairly easy to pick off targets that are weak or out of position. When the laning phase ends, however, I find myself dying in team fights and lucky just to assist sometimes. I use mobility items item 3117 item 3100 (and whatever the fuck the jungle item is that grants speed) so when I cloak, I can get around quickly, both out of danger and to my targets.
