Tell me if this is jank........(should be a assist)

Hey guys this is my first thread ever for LoL, so if there is any way I can improve let me know. First to lay down the scenario. I am on ARAM in a full team curse call. All you need to know about my team is I am and one of my teammates is . All you need to know about the enemy team is they have a and her teammates took too much damage too fast ( got down to lowest health possible healing her team). Again talking to my whole team on curse voice, my friend says to put a time bomb(Again me ) on a minion and he will bash the minion into the enemy team. On our first attempt at this poke, like 2 minutes into the game I kid you not, I put a time bomb on a siege minion and he waits for the perfect time to bash the minion just to the side of a like <10 health . My time bomb explodes giving me first blood for the death. However, did not get a assist. The only reason I got first blood is the bashed the minion into close enough range of the brittle , but no assist rewarded to . True did not directly buff me or damage but I feel like he still deserves a assist. I sent a request to Riot Games Player Support, and this is what I got as a response.

Thanks for sharing this with me. You have a good point there, technically, Sion did help you get first blood but due to the current game mechanics, did not get an assist.

Obviously interest has to be shown to bring this to the attention of the development team. What do you think, should get the assist? How would Riot change this? Do you have any similar instances? Eager to see your responses! :D
