When did rat dota become so popular in League?

Haven't played for about 6 months, first game back an Udyr just back doors the entire game ... That takes all the fun out of the game, it's extremely effective and I can't hate on someone using it to win, but my god is it boring. I probably could have done a ton more, had a great KD ratio at 21-0 but couldn't figure out how to stop Udyr from backdooring ... tried to defend against him and send my team to 4v4 but they couldn't win a team fight without me (not blaming, just stating what happened so I can learn how to stop it), I couldn't kill him, even thought I was ridiculously fed, it's like he just stayed until sub 10% hp and ran away and there was no chance I could catch him.

Wut do in dis situation?
