Aren't Silvers Supposed to be BETTER than Bronze?

Limrick··10 votes·1,024 views

Ever since I climbed my way out of Bronze, my teammates have gotten progressively worse. I finally got to my promos to Silver 4, and my teammates were all 50-100 MMR lower than my opponents. This is getting stupid, my MMR is tanking so much but my enemies stay the same. Only my allies MMR is going down with me. Help.

New players get placed in silver most of the time, and the unranked players play games in silver elo to determine where they belong. Other than that, they think they're good now.

Ok sure but why1 votes

I,,, So there is an ELO Hell.

If there was one, it'd be right around silver 3ish, but I think it's not really hell, more like purgatory. I have a 50% win rate because they are on the other team too.

Yeah, I climb myself to S2 when they continue to be on their team, but fall back to S5 when they land in mine. It just keeps eternally looping around on me.

Also at silver people start really caring about their rank to get to that nice gold border, so they flame and rage more often thinking they're really better than they are. Part of it is sometimes grinding too. I notice my mood drops and I lose more when I grind ranked all day. Things just start getting sluggish and boring and I win less.

Nothing we can help you with. Deal with it and don't think negatively.

I'm being as positive as someone with 1/10 mids every game can be.

Silver can often be worse than Bronze, because a lot of newer players get placed low to mid Silver when first ranked.

That's kinda dumb.

Focus on your gameplay watch replays and call yourself out on your mistakes its working for me quite well I was bronze at the start of the season im in gold now witch is the highest i have personally gotten. (still climbing steadly to :D) never focus on your team always think well this was stupid of me why did i do X.

no.

i have been there and back again. you are wrong.

your opponents have become better.

Limrick1 votes

Yes they have, but that isn't saying much considering I got from B3 to S5 with zero effort at all. My teammates are actually worse than when I was in Bronze. Noticeably so. It's mostly new players, 90% of my teams have less than 20 games in ranked.

I've been up to Silver 3 last season, and it's not so bad there. Silver 5 is hell.

mate,

I have been to bronze 5, 0LP, where internet is optional and games are dictated by lag and afks.

you have not seen nothing.

Just because there are deeper circles of hell doesn't make this any less hellish.

You're still playing in Bronze. Yes, you're Silver 5 but you will get matched with Bronze players quite a bit still. Mostly equal doses of S5 and B1 players with a couple B2s sprinkled in and the odd S4 player once in a while. Stick it out. Climb to at least Silver 3 and you will see a huge difference. At Silver 3, you will never see Bronze players, unless you duo with Bronzies. But playing solo you will be matched with a lot of last season Goldies, S3s, S2s with the odd S1 here and there. You won't see the rampant feeding and general fuckeries that is typical of a Bronze game. You consistently get good team mates from at least mid Silver 4 if your MMR is high. You will know your MMR is good if you get 20 or more LP per win. Just stick it out and try to climb a bit higher.

Mate, I climbed to Silver 3 last season pretty easily(meaning in about 120 games), and I spent half the time in S5. I know it gets better, but damn is Silver 5 ever a tough gatekeeper.

Silver 5 - Silver 3 is the danger zone of getting first time ranked players in your games, since they have to bomb their placements to get placed in bronze. I went 6-4 in my first ranked season placements and got Silver 3 (definitely wasn't ready for it yet either).

Limrick1 votes

Yeah, I guess that's true. I mean I went 7/3 in placements and got B3, but that was when the system kinda placed everyone lower than it should've,

Judge Steven1 votes

That wasn't your first ever placements though was it? If you have a previous ranked season, your placements will almost always drop you down below where you ended last season. This season I went 9-1 in my placements and went from Silver 4 to Bronze 2.

Ok sure but why2 votes

I went 5-5 in my first ranked season and got mostly A+'s and got placed in S5! Neat.

It takes a great stretch of win to climb into a new rank, so once you get there you're most likely gonna have to suffer a losing streak. That's just the luck of this ranked system, my friend. It's a really flawed system, but I don't see Riot doing anything to change it.

Silvers players are better... usualy. But this dosn't prevent them to be stupid and doing stupid sh*t. It happen same at higher elo. U overestimate them, nothing more.

Silver 4-5 players got out bronze by playing my carries. They typically only know how to go in.

They either get fed or feed and have basically the same mmr as bronze 1.
