I need to let off some steam, I fucking despise Yasuo.
Disclaimer: I'm simply emptying how I feel into this post, if you get offended (aka if you're a Yasuo main) I really don't care. I hate this champion and he's been the same toxic, unfun plague to play against since my freshman year of high school.
I never knew that when Yasuo was released I'd be in for one treat of a champion for the next 5 years. Yasuo was released in 2013 (my freshman year of high school) and its now 2018 and so far not much has changed to alter his toxic kit. Without going into much detail I'm just going to list some of the reasons i hate this champion.
- Playing against Yasuo feels like you have an innate disadvantage because of the fact he's simply always in urf mode and his entire kit revolves around rendering you useless.
- He becomes unstoppable once he gets
and by the time he has
you're better off quitting the game. Seriously, these 2 items paired with conqueror make him a goddamn raid boss. If we're being honest a competent Yasuo only needs these 2 items to dominate a game. - He has no clear weaknesses to exploit in his kit. I'm pretty sure every mid lane mage will know what I mean when they say that a Yasuo will simply charge up 2 q's and then dash through a few minions to get the knock up before leaving (whether or not he misses doesn't matter because he does it again at no cost). Try to retaliate? Windwall to your fucking face.
- His passive simply shouldn't exist in the game. The fact this is still here after 5 years boggles my mind.
- His ultimate. Look before conqueror was introduced I wouldn't include it into a list like this, but the fact he can achieve 100% critical chance as well as get armor penetration ontop of it AND true damage makes itemizing against him fucking pointless. I've seen
and
get melted like fucking butter by Yasuo despite the fact they're stacking armor.
Playing against a Yasuo is reminiscent of playing Halo CE on Legendary for the simple fact that it's not your game anymore, it's theirs. If you're played Halo on legendary you know that the smallest mistake, the most minuscule miscalculation can cost you your life and the same can be said for Yasuo. There's no outplaying him, there's simply staying in a position where he can't kill you and I fucking hate this design philosophy, I fucking hate feeling like MY GAMEPLAY revolves around whether or not a specific person screws up THEIR GAMEPLAY.
You see, when a
kills me I actually feel like I deserved the death because there were clear things I could've done differently to avoid it as he has clear and defined weaknesses that can be exploited ... Yasuo doesn't (unless waiting for Windwall to be on cooldown counts as counterplay).
