how strong is zyra? does she need a nerf or are support getting to much free gold

every game i go against a zyra she always manages to solo carry bot lane.. if junglers dont camp and constantly put pressure on her shes gonna zone the adc out of alot of farm and if she roots u just once u can say good bye to half ur hp

i notice that shes always able to afford alot of fairly pricey ap items like item 3151 item 3116 item 3089

idk if this is just an issue with how easy it is to get gold on her or what but its extremely toxic to play against because u cant really do a lot to her without help from a random team member which lets be honest is as good for nothing..

i really dont appreciate how dominating she feels and from now on im just gonna ban her every game until something is done about her

she has way to much in her kit and does way to much dmg

i seriously feel like if ur gonna pick a dmg support bot lane there has to be a downside to it

she does have a downside, squishy, slow, and immobile. She's not going to peel anywhere near as good as Nami Janna Blitzcrank Thresh

even if she's a support, treat her as a real threat. item 3151 is very good on her so do not let her build up a lot of seeds, if she does then stay away from em

Really her snare and ult are as good a peel as any of those except maybe thresh whose entire kit is CC.

Her ult is her ult

and her snare thing you can still attack while in it, and it's not that fast of a projectile.

if zyra snares u u dont wanna be attacking u wanna be flASHING AWAY cuz she will easily kill u or her teammates will

its not that hard to get caught by it. also goes thru minions

An easy nerf for her is disallow her plant autos (and maybe pets in general) from proccing thunderbolt.

i think keystones are the major issue here also how easy it is to get early magic and armor pen from the cunning tree so people with early high base dmg will always be meta and strong cuz of dumb ass keystones

Supports get, on average, ~2k gold less in long games than carries get, and about 1k less than the jungler. If you nerf it any more prepare to add another 5+ mins onto current queue times.

I'm biased as a Zyra player but I don't really see a problem with her. She doesn't have a dominating win rate 50.7%, she doesn't do the most damage of any support, Brand Support takes that one and if she misses her E she's a complete sitting duck. We've seen from worlds that she has a vulnerability to kill lanes.

I know I'm in the minority on this one but Zyra was designed as a mid-lane mage and I'm still pissed at all the nerfs she's gotten over the years because of support players.

As a support main, I feel that she is somewhat balanced. Her role in lane is to poke with her plants, which can be oppressive. The downside to this is that she has to either be going even or ahead to continue doing this. If she loses her advantage due to a number of bad trades or dying, she becomes less useful because of her loss in lane presence. If you have seen most Zyra players, they opt to get damage items to be a secondary damage dealer outside of being a support. If you're behind, you won't be getting items. Likewise, her threat is severely weakened by sustain supports such as Nami and Sona who can trade easily against Zyra and push her out of lane.

TLDR Zyra offers great poke. She has a hard time playing when behind. Zyra sucks against a sustain lane.

yeah but the issue i tend to find in solo q is that people dont realize lane counters such as sustain beats poke etc

so they will pick supports who do terrible against her then we proceed to be zoned and i just have to throw my hands up and pray someone ganks

Aggressive poke and harass is fine provided that the champion itself has some inherent risk. She doesn't have to walk that far forward to harass. Trying to fight her means you sit there taking damage from 2-3 plants and will probably die. Compare her to a lane phase damage support like sona who must be in auto attack range to harass effectively. A zyra lane is a lane that in most cases is only winnable by allowing the lane to push and call the jungle for an all-in.

Zyra is just a generally strong champion with really high bases, Zyra's main weakness is that all of her abilities are telegraphed and that without her plants she deals no damage. She's very immobile, she's very fragile compared to other alternatives and if she ends up being out bullied in lane she doesn't become particularly useful.
