A few things i noticed in silver

ViiLLAiN··24 votes·2,313 views

You guys rage way to hard and way to fast learn how to take criticism and responsibility

You all have halfway decent mechanics what you all mostly lack is game knowledge

You guys love to value kills over objs and will chase and overextend and burn summs just to get a kill or try to

You guys need to think more before u act. Dont flash forward with no mana left lol dont flash foward with no vision

WARD i cant stress enough how important warding is item 2043 this item cost 75 gold come on guys

Pots!!!! Buy HP pots if you need 3 -4 then buyt them its better to stay in lane and get xp

stop getting poked down for no reason

RESPECT YOUR ENEMY!! Dont assume the player is bad u are in the same elo as them if you think you play well and everyone else is just bad im sure theres more then one person in the game who thinks the same way

Just stop playing ARAM when u dont know what else to do

Ward push side lanes use ur vision to judge what obj ur team should group to take or what lanes to split push

You guys arent that bad u just dont think thats honestly all it is

And for some reason each and every one of you is better than Gold V...

honestly i'm in silver (and a little guilty of some of that), and when i got into my gold promos. they pitted my team of low golds and high silvers against all high gold and low plats constantly. lol it's rough getting out of silver (even though my MMR was not Above Average for my rank according to na.op.gg anyway... certainly shouldn't be plat worthy)

Lauchmelder1 votes

I feel you. Haven't touched ranked for 3-5 months and when I came back to it I got thrown into games against plat 5s (while i am gold 5).

Overall though, stay positive. Silver 1 is better than gold 5, you will get there. Just don't get into the gold 5 mindset of kills / wins. I have lost several games since I came back just due to my team not wanting to go for an objective after we aced them.

I was actually pointing out that Gold V is a nightmare, I recently promoted into it and some of the people I've had...

If you think Gold V is bad, just wait until you hit Platinum V.

I mean it is and it isn't. You have some questionable players combined with people (such as myself on my alt account) first timing champs in ranked or not taking it as seriously since they just hit a new tier and know they won't be demoted right away. But at the same time if you playing gold 5 mmr games u playing with mostly gold 4 - mid silver players anyways so carrying games is not that bad.

ZeeWolfZ1 votes

I'm guilty of smurfing with many diamond players in Silver/Gold elos. It's just so much fun lol!

Also, Plat 5s are boosted trash who are nowhere close in skill level to a Solo Queue Plat player.

ViciousSummoner2 votes

That feels bad moment when you get full gold and 2 low plat vs full silver and lose. Happened one too many times because most people in Gold get in for free cause Rito. [zombie-nunu-bummed]

I think that's intentional in gold promos. Their annoying no doubt but I noticed the same thing in many of my promo games. Good news is at least there is promo helper now. Took me 4 tries last season, 3 tries this season on 2 accounts. Finally only took 1 try on my third account I couldn't freaken believe it.

Morale of the story is. Promos suck but with promo helper there not as bad as they used to be (at least in low elo where promo helper is). If your good enough to reach the next rank then you will get back to your promos again. Eventually you will win the stupid promos and get in, just have to stay strong and keep focused.

"burn summs just to get a kill or try to"

I watched a worlds game the other day. dont remember teams but it was really long game I think +65 minute where they had pussy ass long range poke comp. only trades were some varus just spamming Q from behind 50 tanks

but to the point, i didn't see any kill happen wihout burning of summoner spells. every Q elise landed was with a flash at melee range

Amasa Delano3 votes

Burning summoner spells to secure the first kill or two when the other team is all alive is useful. Once you have a numbers advantage, taking objectives should take priority.

Sinlaire1 votes

That was C9 vs Flash Wolves. Flash Wolves had the varus. they got a baron and elder dragon and only took a bot lane turret with it. cant remember if they even got the inhib.

they lost the THIRD baron of the game to a steal from C9 and went on to lose the game after having a gold advantage for 61 minutes of the game.

C9 won in the last 9.

kasfas3 votes

The worst thing is when they chase someone into the jungle after a winning fight, while we could've took a tower and a dragon instead.

I play with plats on a bi-daily basis, and I can say from my experience silver have trouble takeing objectives,as well as overestimate their own damage and often can get tilted from small things.

The major thing however, that still sometimes happens to me,is blaming teammates for doing or not doing something. Even when I'm winning I try to see what I could do better, and that is what helps you climb. As an example, I once played poppy and got countered by an illaoi. I crushed her in lane, but I kept missing CS and didn't roam early on so I said to myself "i suck, I missed that cannon" or "f***ing idiot, should've tpd botlane" because there is ALWAYS something YOU can do better. That's just something I learned from QT.

I agree with everything but I don't understand why stop playing aram...

ViiLLAiN2 votes

I meant like mindlessly grouping mid hoping something will happen which usually always turns out bad for one party

Asayake 5150glow2 votes

Yo flashing/exhausting/igniting/ghosting for a kill aint bad... what do you think they're for...

Dukues2 votes

Honestly this is a great list. I would especially highlight the chasing kills instead of pushing objectives and stop playing ARAM. I would also add stop overstaying after a successful push.

I am only gold 4 100 lp with 2 other accounts in gold 4 & 5 so I am not that great. But the biggest change I made this season that got me sticking around in gold compared to mid silver is just thinking more. My mechanics are still shit, so are the mechanics of my teammates and opponents. But you can tell the average gold player is thinking their moves out more. There are still lots of mistakes, but the points highlighted above are done more consistently.

Pay attention to those death timers. Don't get caught in the enemy base when their team respawns. Don't do baron when all players on enemy team is up and they know you going to do it. Stopping sitting mid playing aram and start pushing out bot and top while your team exchanges worthless poke back and forth mid with the enemy. Eventually players on the enemy team will have to leave mid to pickup the pushed lanes and now you can head back mid and push that.

When you die don't flame your team but think about what went wrong and plan what you going to do when you get back up. Once you start thinking more consistently and improving your playing habits you will get through silver.

Gold honestly seems like a cluster fuck of ranks. Like from gold 1 - gold 5 I am never really sure what to expect from teammates. Everyone's mechanics seem fairly similar, just seems the gold 1-2 players are more consistent on their decisions and don't get caught out warding or pushing as much as the lower ranked players.

So yea, knowledge is power. Think more and rank up. Although it was only a couple divisions, thinking more has led me from being forever silver to reaching gold consistently without too much stress.

Maybe a little less, but they still exist.

You kidding...

Its a fuckin epidemic of these players in diamond this season. The 2000-2200 MMR range got completely thrashed by Dynaboost Q. 50% increase in total number of players in this range compared to the previous 2 seasons with the same approximate 2.5 million players total on the NA servers (although technically we are under 2 million at this point, there are usually a flood of last minute ranked players, but its entirely possible we managed to increase the total number of players in d5 and up by half as many as ever previously had while decreasing the total number of players to play ranked this season by 20%). Its been a significant problem all season long.

In NO world does it make sense for the total number of players in D5 and up to jump from 22,000 to 35,000 while the total number of players playing ranked decreases. Its almost entirely to do with DQ ruining competitive play this season and encouraging players to smurf rather than attempt to play the sillyness that is diamond play this season. Not only did DQ cause a number of players to achieve ranks they have no business in, but the better players who truly belong at this level of play got so fed up with it that we all refuse to play in that range and we just spent an entire season smurfing to diamond, making a new smurf, getting to diamond, rinse repeat.

Low diamond games resemble silver games now, just with 6 of the 10 players managing diamond level cs and other individual skill metrics while 4 players manage to play like its still a bronze level match. The variance is so extreme its ridiculous. You just wind up hoping you only got one of those 4 players.

GayFluffyUnicorn1 votes

Exactly this. The skill variency between each individual player in diamond is ridiculous. I got to my dia 4 promos pretty quick, got matched with plat teammates in one promo game thanks to dynQ needing one higher player to balance out the enemy premade. Than faced a long loss streak again. If i would atleast have fun but i can't have fun when there is someone who plays like master, two silvers and one actual diamond. It is frustrating as fuck to play there. And the fact that u lose extreme amounts of lp/mmr per lose makes it even worse so you get immediately matched with high plat again. This shitfest i tried to escape.

Oh I was just expanding on your point more than anything. Its not like it happens much less no matter what elo range one plays in. The other players who play this game are always fucking retarded. And its gotten really bad this season in high level play. All i meant matey.

Waffletimewarp1 votes

While not officially silver myself, most of the people I play with are and I see and am guilty of this all the time.

But to be fair nothing is quite so entertaining as seeing four members of the enemy team devote everything they have to take the fed Mundo and his tower. And then fail half a dozen times feeding him more each attempt.

What Is Smite1 votes

Yea, sometimes I wonder if people in silver this season were just born with a brain tumor. I've been playing since season 3 started ranked when s3 ranked ended, hit gold two seasons in a row peaking at gold 3 in s5, people literally believe that chasing kills and not taking the objectives will help end the game sooner, and they don't even learn from their mistakes. They are not warding the map at all and they blame teammates for when they fuck up. It's literally the Special Education tier of LoL

Ive been on the higher end of silver and now I'm on the lower. I cant seem to get a game where I don't have two feeders the game. They say the chance of a lane feeding is 25 percent and with two lanes feeding its a 12% chance. Let me tell you I'm the luckiest silver to hit a 12% chance once out of three games. I'm stuck with people with the biggest egos as of right now where they think they know what there doing. And i cant seem to get any traction out of the games where this happens weather its two lanes feeding or just 1 it seems if the rest of my team is not prepared to play through but give up.

Sylvant1 votes

you have to give it to them that they hear criticism to often and most of the time its expressed very negatively, so its normal they build the defensive mechanic to always answer salty to such accusation

ViiLLAiN1 votes

How dare you tell me to ward my lane after I have been ganked 4 times in the past 5 mins !

Continues to not ward just to be spiteful

DevlinCrow1 votes

And just because you have full HP doesn't mean it's OK to not even bother trying to dodge skillshots

TerranHybrid1 votes

I was Bronze 2. The end of this game for me was out-farming (22cs) and out-ganking (2-0-0 to 0-0-0) a jungling Yorick and getting 2 shot the first time I saw him at half-health after he pillaged our entire top lane.

There is no point in even trying to learn the game anymore. There is no ground for new players because lazy elder players want to feast on your future to satisfy their present. New players will never be in games where they aren't over-matched, disadvantaged, and otherwise out of their skill range.

People know when they are being screwed with. Each of you "smurfs" are contributing to the death of this product. Enjoy your ill gotten gains.

nah its from bronze to low plat that these can be applied to

Chasing kills, not taking objectives (unless they are free), and toxicity are the biggest problems among silver players.

Another problem is they play too many champions and too many roles.

xXfresbXx1 votes

My Biggest problem sofar with Silver 1 that has prevented me from beeing Gold is the lack of comunication. I can ping several options after a won team fight and non will be agknowledged by any person on my team. Otherwise i dont think silver is that bad

A Doorknob1 votes

I've heard this too many times, between the none stop smurfs, the leavers/dc, the trolls and the feeders, it's hard to take this seriously, you usually have one of these per game, just not necessarily on your team and they are numerous. The best tip possible I've learned; quit caring about your elo and play the game.
